How to Dress Like Taylor Swift… for Less!
Since the release of her first single “Tim McGraw” back in 2006, Taylor Swift has taken over the music industry with her pop country ballads and teen heartache anthems. Now, after selling 20 million albums worldwide and appearing at every awards show on the planet, the 21-year-old music superstar is known not only for her music, but also for her adorable sense of style.
With her unique stylistic mix of casual-cool chic, girl-next-door cute and sparkling red-carpet glam, Taylor has become a fashion icon, covering top magazines such as Glamour, InStyle, CosmoGirl, Allure, Teen Vogue, Blender, Rolling Stone, People, and Seventeen, to name a few!

Known for her floral frocks, glimmering gowns, and relatable down-to-earth street style, it’s no surprise that Ms. Swift is very popular among CF readers! (We heard your numerous requests for a post on her style!) So for those of you who are dying to dress like Taylor, I’ll show you how to get Taylor Swift’s style… for less!
How to Get Taylor Swift’s Style for Less!
The wardrobe of a pop sensation comes with quite the price tag. That said, it’s easier than you think to emulate Taylor’s look without emptying your bank account. Want proof? The following outfits are completely comprised of items that cost $100 or less!
Outfit 1: Fun in Floral

Dress, Cardigan, Bag, Shoes, Necklace
To me, floral frocks and Taylor Swift go hand in hand. Here, she rocks a flirty floral dress with a cream cardigan for a perfect spring-to-summer look. I love that Taylor added a pop of color with her strappy teal sandals, making this a standout ensemble for the season.
2. Outfit 2: To Top It All Off

Blazer, Top, Jeans, Bag, Shoes, Hat
Taylor looks city chic here as she rocks a boyfriend blazer, black skinny jeans, a striped top, and a pair of wingtips. My favorite part of this fall look is her navy beanie hat – I think it really pulls the menswear-style look together. This look is great for a fall shopping day, or just a day of classes.
Outfit 3: Perfectly Preppy

Shirt, Skirt, Bag, Necklace, Earrings, Shoes
Channeling Emma Pilsbury, Taylor looks preppy and posh in a fitted striped 3/4-length top and full cherry-red skirt. She also added a pair of nude peep-toe pumps for a more sophisticated and put-together look. This look would be great for a summer brunch with friends, a day party at the beach, or with a pair of flats for work.
Outfit 4: Chanel Chic

Top, Jeans, Boots, Bag, Necklace
For a day on the town or going to class, Taylor’s oversized Chanel No 9-inspired top is an easy way to look chic without trying. Just add a pair of ankle boots, jeggings, and a chic necklace, and you’ll look effortlessly cool and most of all, comfortable.
Outfit 5: Flowing and Fearless

Top, Jeans, Boots, Bracelet, Headband
This is one of my favorite looks from Taylor. Here, she looks chic and stylish in a flowing white blouse and riding boots. This look is easy to pull off and can work whether you’re going to class, having a nice dinner, or hanging with friends. Swap a pair of wedges for the boots for a more summer-appropriate look.

The post says for less, yet the first pair of shoes are 95 dollars and the LOve Potion shirt is upwards of 92. Maybe some looks that are affordable for us broke college gals?
AJ
Awesome post!! =D
Kyrstin
I’d love to know where to find a less expensive version of that perfume t-shirt if anyone knows where to find it!

I love her, she’s so cute! And her style is really cute as well. I would have loved to see some places you can buy dresses like her fancy sparkly/ gold dresses.
Stella Kim
oooh love this post!! esp her red skirt outfit!
Rachel
sooo I’m not a fan of Swift’s music, but I do think she’s an inspirational dresser. Great post!
BS
I thought the OUTFITS were going to be less than $100, not each individual ITEM. That’s still not affordable (I know I couldn’t blow $90 on a t-shirt…).
Regardless, the outfits are cute. =] I’m an especial fan of the 1st and 2nd ones.

The best part of Taylor’s style is how easy it is to obtain on a budget! She dresses accessibly, which just adds to the whole “down to Earth” vibe she’s so good at. Girls CAN look like her because she shops at places like Urban Outfitters, ASOS, and Topshop with frequency (to name a few). Disney stars like Miley and Selena also do this; mixing their designer duds with more affordable clothing that ranges in price. Love.

My favorite look from her is the floral dress, the blue shoes, and the cardigan:) She looks so pretty.
Sara
I admit she looks cute but thats about it, I dont see her taking any fashion risks or setting trends. Also, I dont see anything new or inspirational in these outfits – jeans with T-shirt, dress with cardigan…looking great but a bit plain for me.
But thanks for the article! I really do like this site :)
Natalia
I really love her style, so simple and chic
Ana
wow, cute post. love it
Mariah
@Kyrstin I think I’ve seen a t-shirt with the same perfume pic at Kenvelo. Hope that helps :)
Taylor Swift really annoys me but I like her casual style. I especially like outfits 2 & 4 (casual chic + braids = win)
I’d like to see a post on Florence Welch :)
Leah M.
Thanks for posting this! I’ve been admiring Taylor’s street-style looks for a while now. I like them much more than I like her red-carpet looks because it seems like she has more style; like she’s actually styling her own looks instead of having things picked out for her.

Caitlin
All your outfits do a great job of capturing her style! The only thing missing for me was a night look with a sparkly dress, her’s are always so cute. Great post. :)
Rachel
Great Post! I loved all of the outfits. Maybe you could do another post with evening looks based on her red carpet style.
Rae

Cute enough outfits, but a How to Dress like Taylor Swift article without cowboy boots!? Crazy!
maxine
All Taylor’s outfits are casual yet pretty just like her. I especially like the floral dress. That is so my favorite trend right now.
Carli
