July 4th is just days away, which means it’s time to start figuring out what to wear to celebrate Independence Day.

Whether you’re spending the day near the water or watching the fireworks, we’re here to help! Below, we’ve created four cute and stylish outfit ideas incorporating the traditional red, white, and blue color motif. Scroll on down to check ‘em out:

Sun & Surf

For many, the Fourth of July means spending the afternoon by the nearest beach, lake, or swimming pool, and this first look is ideal for that occasion. Start with a navy blue swimsuit – this one-piece has a sophisticated, beach-chic vibe, but could easily be swapped out for whichever style you prefer.

Slip-on sandals in a similar hue are perfect for a day spent by the water, as are these fun striped sunglasses. Stow all your essentials in this bold graphic tote and don’t forget the trendy fringe cover-up.

Backyard Barbecue

This cute and casual look would work perfectly for a low-key barbecue with family and/or friends. Start with an adorable red sundress and a pair of summer-appropriate wedge sandals. Accessorize with these statement earrings, which incorporate the official holiday colors, and grab a pair of blue-hued sunnies.

If your hair is long, keep it up and away from your neck by styling it in a tousled topknot, then add a swipe of a long-lasting red lip stain to complete the look.

Outdoor Festival

If your plans for the Fourth include a concert, parade, block party, or other similar event, this next outfit is a trendy choice that will keep you cool all day long. Start with a fun polka dot romper and a pair of casual sandals. Accessorize with an on-trend head wrap, which picks up on the red color of the belt.

A hands-free cross-body bag is an ideal pick for a day spent outdoors and the blue shade creates a sort-of monochromatic look against the romper. Lastly, accessorize with these star-shaped and striped rings for a subtle look inspired by the American flag.

Fireworks Show

If your Fourth of July celebration ends with watching a fireworks show, try out this fun, yet practical ensemble. Start by pairing cobalt short with a lightweight white camisole. Since it can get chilly at night, add a red-and-white striped pullover sweater which can easily be taken off if you get too hot.

Sneakers are a fab choice if you’re going to be trekking through the grass or doing a lot of walking to get to your destination, while these dangly earrings remind us of fireworks. For the finishing touch, paint your nails with a sparkling sliver nail polish.

Your thoughts?

I really like the second one.

My birthday is the 4th of July, so over the years I’ve kind of become against the whole super-duper Americana thing because of many things, one of those being ridiculous flag related outfits as a child for my birthday. I kind of associated Americana flag stuff for a while with humiliation. Ha.
