OPI to Release Collection Inspired by James Bond
Nail polish company OPI recently announced that their 2012 holiday collection would be inspired by none other than James Bond.
The limited-edition collection will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise with 12 brand new polishes as well as a one-of-a-kind Bond-approved topcoat. Called “The Man with the Golden Gun” the topcoat (pictured at right) is made of real flecks of 18k gold which is sure to glam up your basic mani/pedi.
The gold leaf topcoat — which comes in a matching special edition gold bottle — will set you back $30, while the other nail lacquers will be priced around $8.50.
According to InStyle, the collection will be avaiable at OPI retailers nationwide starting in October in order to coincide with the release of the latest James Bond flick Skyfall, which will be released in the U.S. on November 9th.

OMG I’m sooo excited for this! I’m a HUGE James Bond fan and will probably be purchasing the whole collection including the top coat!
Lizzy
WOW that topcoat is to die for! But I think I’ll be settling for the Goldeneye one instead :)

Charli

Ooh, so pretty! Like Lizzy, I’m probably going to spring for Goldeneye instead. Plus, I absolutely love that movie.
(Oh Alec Trevelyan, my favorite rogue MI6 agent! And how could you not love a film that has Boromir, Hagrid, and Jean Grey?!)
Kim

I’m with Alli. I’m obsessed with all things 007 – seriuosly, I’m naming my children after Bond characters. The release of these shades will also coincide with the complete drainage of my bank account.

Once I saw the golden one I knew I had to have it. But for $30… Not so sure anymore. But the other ones were cheap! I want The Living Daylights.
Emma
I love getting unique polish colors but at the same time, the collabs are getting crazy! If I bought any shade it would be Goldeneye because I’m newly fond of gold and because I own the Goldeneye game on my Nintendo 64

Live and Let Die and Casino Royale are my faves. The dark purple and teal colors have me so excited for fall!
Alice
Multiple coats of the gold topcoat over some dark color like black or Skyfall or Live and Let Die would look amazing! I love James Bond and the fact that these are named after 007 movies but I probably won’t buy them because I only have one nail polish (my signature frankenpolish!) that I wear all the time. :p
Alice
Oh, and The Living Daylights would look great as a topcoat over anything on the bottom row! And some on the top row too!
Ali
I am way too excited for this.

I love the “Die another day” and for real gold in my nail polish, Um yes I’d fork out the $30 (i most likely won’t get in but I would if I had some extra cash). Great post! I’m a big James Bond/ action movie fan!

considering our “regular” OPI polish is around $20 in Australia, and the dollars are almost 1=1, $30 is not such a big stretch. But for my taste I prefer the glitterry goodness of The Living Daylights

This is one of those sad moments for me being from South Africa because $30 is like R250 which is extremely expensive for nail polish. Sigh :( When I graduate I’m definitely moving overseas

Nice collection, but it feels a little less than inspired? I wish they also had some of the older films. And seriously? OPI jumped on the film called Goldeneye instead of Goldfinger? LoL.
O.P.I. FAN
Live and let die, tomorrow never dies, and the living daylights are absolute MUST HAVES! The rest of the collection is just alright. The 18k topcoat is a disappointment! It hardly has any gold flakes it mostly just looks like a regular topcoat:( would not buy!
