Now that it is the middle of the summer, it’s time for us to start pondering about how we will decorate our apartment or dorm room for the upcoming semester. Need some inspiration? We’re here to help!
On season 3 of Gossip Girl, our favorite Upper East Siders began college (some of them, anyway) and even the Queen Bee, Blair Waldorf, moved into a dorm room. If you love the way Blair Waldorf dresses, then her interior decorating taste will not disappoint you. Her dorm room does a great job of showcasing her style. Read on for tips on outfitting your dorm to look like Blair’s.
Blair’s dorm room is similar to her room at home in that she uses the finest and most elegant materials and accessories. She even uses wallpaper, which is rarely allowed in dorm rooms. Although Blair’s exact dorm room is a bit impractical for college students, it is still a great source of inspiration. If you use bits and pieces of her room as inspiration, you can design an elegant room that fits your style and budget. Some ideas include:

Just a thought, I don’t know any dorm rooms that let you use wall decals like that chandelier. Make sure to check your college’s rules about such things.
My bedroom is decorated like Blair’s (high school) bedroom! She’s such an amazing source of inspiration.

I absolutely love this post! All of the purple pillows and bedding are great (purple is one of my school colors). This article has given me some ideas on how to incorporate purple into my room and have school spirit without being too over the top.
i love the design but so many dark colors almost seems too depressing for a dorm room

Ronnie – I know what you mean! Dorm rooms are definitely small, so perhaps the fact that you probably won’t have dark wall paper in a real dorm room will help lighten things up!
It would be great if you could do dorm room inspiration by Serena or based on that type of style. I love the model off duty/ Kate Moss/ Serena style.

such a great idea for a summer article as many girls are getting together their dorm decorations as we speak. I’d love to see dorm room styles inspired by other celebrities :)

I love this post and the design options. I’m not sure I would use it for a dorm room though, although some pieces could be used. I would use this rather for my bedroom than my dorm room.

I was searching for an article like this on the internet for so long ! Please do a serie or something showing more dorm room decoration inspired by characters or celebrities.
I like her fashion style, but no so much the interior design style. Too old fashioned maybe.. But I’m from Scandinavia. We like white and simple furniture. Clean lines…
But a mix of those two would be great. I love the pillow you’ve chosen!

Posters are a great source of design inspiration for dorm rooms as are art panels and wall decals. Check out our selection at http://www.deckmydorm.com/decorate.html of vintage inspired posters. We love Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe! …and yes, most dorm room do allow wall decals like the chandelier featured in this post. Not so sure about the satin bedding? Although it looks great in the photo, it is not very practical for dorm life!

Oh my goodness pink is usually my favourite colour but my room needs a change so im going to use these ideas to go from problem is im from Australia so i can’t get most of this stuff unless i order online! :( please do more cool inspired bedroom looks!

Love this article because I’m trying to imitate the style of Blair’s dorm room for my bedroom. What I really do want is her satin comforter though, it’s an amazing colour. I know you posted an example but do you have any others? Because I just really want that colour, and funnily enough, even the exact one that they used in the show from kumikookoon.com in sapphire colour doesn’t quite match the picture.
what colour would you suggest for the wall/s?
