At this point, it’s safe to say that loafers should be a staple in any college girl’s wardrobe. From oversized, menswear-inspired pants and shirts to frilly feminine dresses, loafers go with pretty much everything!

But, like any shoe style, it can sometimes be hard to dream up new ways to wear loafers that feel current and exciting. With spring fast approaching, you’re going to be wanting some fresh ideas on how to jazz up your pair(s).

That’s why I was inspired to put together three fashion-forward loafer looks for this spring.

Hopefully they will inspire you to take your loafer looks to the next level!

How To: Wear Loafers, Outfit #1

look 1: white tee, distressed boyfriend jeans, crew socks, motorcycle jacket, black loafers

Products: Shirt – Shopbop, Socks – Urban Outfitters, Jeans – Urban Outfitters, Jacket – Mango, Bandana – Urban Outfitters, Loafers – Zara, Earrings – Mejuri, Bracelet – Mejuri, Tote – Mango

For this look, I was inspired by the 1950s Greaser style, as exemplified in the movie Grease.

Begin by tucking a basic loose-fitting white tee into a pair of cropped jeans with a relaxed silhouette. Then tie a cute bandana around your neck for a little pop of color.

A faux leather motorcycle jacket toughens things up, while thick gold hoops and a paperclip-link bracelet add a dash of femininity.

When paired with white ruffled socks, these gorgeous black snake-print loafers make for a quirky look.

To pull the whole ensemble together, grab a timeless, oversized brown suede tote.

How To: Wear Loafers, Outfit #2

look 2: floral dress, quilted green jacket, brown loafers

Products: Dress – Zara, Bag – Urban Outfitters, Loafers – Nordstrom, Earrings – Revolve, Ring – Rock N Rose, Jacket – Everlane

If you’re trying to figure out how to wear loafers for a chilly spring day, this pretty and feminine outfit is perfect for when it’s brisk in the morning but warmer as the day progresses.

To get it, start off by putting on a beautiful pastel floral dress. Throw on a quilted utilitarian jacket to keep you warm from cool spring breezes.

Classic, deep burgundy loafers add structure to the look. Cute heart drop earrings and an antique-inspired locket ring add some vintage flair.

Finally, a simple woven shoulder bag is perfect for carrying around your essentials without adding too much bulk.

How To: Wear Loafers, Outfit #3

look 3: navy jumpsuit, brown trench coat, white tassle loafers

Products: Jumpsuit – Mango, Trench Coat – H&M, Sunglasses – ZeroUV, Earrings – Mango, Bag – Mango, Loafers – H&M

Styling more formal looks, for class or a job/internship, is always the trickiest. If you are trying to wear loafers in a more professional setting, this is the outfit for you.

To achieve this classic look, begin by donning a sophisticated navy jumpsuit with a knot detail at the waist. After that, add a timeless tan trench coat.

These cool loafers are a great way to participate in the white shoe trend (which is still going strong, btw!).

A pair of quirky geometric earrings pop against with this outfit, while a chic pair of round sunglasses is ideal for protecting your eyes from the sun while looking stylish.

Last, pick up a vintage-inspired basket-weave bag in faux-leather to finish off the outfit.
