Class to Night Out: Dip Dye Shorts
Do you struggle with transforming your outfits from day to night? Don’t worry, CF is here to help turn that daily annoyance into a fun challenge. This column will focus on one piece per week, and teach you how to take your look from study sessions in the library to dancing the night away.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve been completely obsessed with the dip dye trend all summer. The unexpected shift in color is slightly edgier than your usual ombre, but still has that vintage, DIY feel that’s perfect for summer. The best part is, you can do it with anything from your clothes to your hair!
If you’re in the mood for something hipster-chic, I’ll be showing you how to style a pair of dip dyed shorts (how awesome would it be to DIY these yourself?) for a casual day of class and a fun night out.
Dip Dye Shorts: Class

Shorts, Sweater, Sandals, Bag, Necklace, Earrings
For day, try a boho-chic look by pairing your shorts with an oversized crochet sweater (with a cute tank or tee underneath, of course!). Even summer has its dreary days, and there’s nothing I love more than curling up in something comfy on a rainy, chilly afternoon. Accessorize with trendy geometric jewelry, like gold triangle earrings and a spiky turquoise necklace. Finish off the look with summer staples like gladiator sandals and a floral print satchel.
Dip Dye Shorts: Night Out

Shorts, Tank, Sandals, Bag, Bangles, Earrings
For the ultimate in retro glamor, channel your inner Lana Del Rey for your night look by pairing your shorts with a vintage-inspired cropped floral tank. Rosebud earrings, paired with heavy spiked bangles, create edgy contrast, making this the perfect look for a late-night bonfire or music festival. Complete the look with strappy coral sandals and a matching cross-body bag.
What do you think?
Do you own anything dip-dyed? How do you wear it? Be sure to let me know what you think of the outfits in the comments, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I think the night outfit would also work for school just as well? They don’t seem too much different.

I’m not a fan of the day outfit, but the night outfit is cute.
