Welcome back to Underrated Icons, a column that looks at the styles of icons past and present, specifically icons that don't always get the credit they deserve.
Arguably, this week's subject is overrated, considering he's part of one of the most popular boybands in the world and a constant object of media and fan attention. Despite that, Harry Styles doesn't get enough credit as a modern fashion icon. And as we've seen before in this column, it's not only women that can inspire our outfits.
Harry is our pick this week because he makes bold aesthetic choices and can rock anything (which you can see in his Carpool Karaoke video). And, of course, he's on our minds because he just released his (AHMAYZING!) debut solo album.
Want to get some of Harry Styles' look for yourself? Here are three outfits for women that channel his style vibe.
Harry's style (get used to that pun) is very much that of a brooding rock star with a familiar everyday uniform.
Cop Harry's signature look with a loose printed blouse, classic but edgy skinny jeans, and vintage-looking faux-suede Chelsea boots.
When you need to dodge paparazzi, accessorize with a wide-brim hat, a large tote, and your favorite pair of aviators.
On the red carpet and on stage, Harry has a penchant for wearing bold looks from head to toe as a nod to the classic rock stars of ages past - think suits and tailored pants in bright colors, stripes, and prints that may or may not resemble your grandma's tablecloth.
While these pieces aren't super practical for the average person, you can add some of Harry and his influences into your going out look (or your office look, if your workplace rolls like that!) with a classic white button-down and large floral print pants from ASOS.
T-strap pumps add some Old Hollywood flair to your look, but a faux-calf hair clutch brings it back to 2017.
It may be summer, but that doesn't mean you have to retire black from your wardrobe. Update your black dress for summer and fall by adding an unexpected twist - metallic silver Chelsea boots, inspired by one of my favorite Harry looks.
Keep the rock star vibe going with seemingly randomly placed rings and a hat to protect and hide your face from the world, and you're all set!
