Color combo pink and purple

If you ever find yourself stuck in a style rut, playing with fun new color combinations is a great way to liven up your wardrobe. In this series, we feature unique and unexpected color combinations, then give you stylish outfit ideas so you can try out these color combos yourself. For more color-centric outfit ideas, be sure to check out our previous posts on combining Red + Pink, Mint + Mustard, Peach + Gray, Orange + Blue, Fuchsia + Teal, Olive + Coral, Black + Orange, Purple + Yellow, Red + Green and Black + Brown.

Spring may seem light-years away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate some bright, spring-y colors into your wardrobe right now. Purple and pink aren’t often paired together in women’s fashion, however, these two pretty shades can be combined to create some chic looks that are sure to rid you of those winter blues.

Need some outfit ideas before you rock this color combo? Simply scroll on down to check out four campus-ready outfits featuring purple and pink:

Outfit #1: Amped Up Basics

For this first outfit, we’re going to dress up two wardrobe staples — a white tee and jeans — with a few key pink and purple pieces. Continue the casual vibe with a pair of bright purple flats, then layer on a fun and unexpected pink moto-style jacket. Accessorize with a pair of simple, yet chic earrings, then grab a plum-colored satchel to complete this look.

Outfit #2: Cute & Polished

If you’re looking for something a bit dressier, check out the look below. Start by pairing a polka-dot blouse with a pretty pink pencil skirt. Gray shoes are the perfect complement to this outfit, and these pretty heeled oxfords have a cool, vintage-inspired vibe that we love. Finally, accessorize with a few cute and sparkly silver bracelets.

Outfit #3: Comfort Meets Style

Color-blocking is hotter than ever, so for this next look, we’re styling a pink lace top with purple skinnies for a comfy, yet fashion-forward look. Balance out the bold colors with a khaki-colored anorak, as well as a pair of ankle-strap wedges. Last but not least, accessorize with several unique gold rings.

Outfit #4: Fun & Flirty

Our final ensemble is the dressiest of the bunch, and would be a fab Valentine’s Day outfit for a dinner date (or any other fancy occasion). Start with a gorgeous purple and white floral print dress, then accessorize with a delicate collar necklace. Blush-colored pumps play up the feminine feel of the dress, while a beaded clutch adds interest. For the finishing touch, swipe your lips with a punchy, dark pink lip gloss.
