I spotted this fashionista wearing adorable embroidered jeans on her way to class, and I had to stop and talk to her.

Jordan chose to minor in fashion because she has been interested in the subject for as long as she can remember. “My mom would always get fashion magazines and I remember cutting them up and pasting collages of looks and outfits I loved from each issue,” she says.

Jordan’s versatile style includes anything from racy outfits with heels to frumpy men’s shirts and boyfriend jeans.

Student wears a long-sleeve scoop-neck bodysuit with a high-waisted pair of light-wash denim jeans and layered necklaces.

Let’s Talk Fashion

Who or what inspires your style? “I would have to say that different people and things inspire different occasions. When I’m going out, I always look towards Rihanna and Kylie Jenner for fashion inspiration. Both women give off strong, badass woman vibes in their outfit choices which I admire.”

“For casual days when I go to class or work, I love wearing jeans and a cute t-shirt. I love the casual outfits Gigi and Bella Hadid wear because they always use denim as their statement piece, which is completely rad and still casual. I also get inspiration from Kristen Stewart for my more tomboy outfits. I love buying boy shirts that I can pull a feminine twist on or just go full-out tomboy.”

Where do you like to shop? “I work at Old Navy, so I always shop there. I have bought clothing from each gender, as well as plus-size clothing. I love the challenge a new outfit brings. I also shop at Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Charlotte Russe, and consignment shops, mostly for interesting t-shirts.”

Why did you choose this particular outfit? “I think I look pretty badass in this outfit. The jeans literally just came in the mail today and I’m obsessed with the stitching.”

What fashion advice would you give to other students looking to improve their style? “My advice would be to get inspiration from every aspect of your life. I still wear shirts from high school. Also, have fun with what you wear. If you can’t buy it, make it. I love buying tees from consignment shops and bleaching them or cutting them into cuter looks.”

Do you have any favorite fashion designers? If so, who? “I don’t have any favorite fashion designers.”

What do you do for fun – do you have any unique hobbies or interests? “I am a writer and chairman for WVU’s Ed on Campus chapter and I hang out with my cat a lot.”

If you could raid anyone’s closet, who would it be and why? “I would probably raid Gigi Hadid’s closet. Mostly for her Victoria’s Secret bras and Tommy Hilfiger clothing.”

Elements of Jordan’s Style

1. Glasses

Student wears large, round cream-colored glasses with her long-sleeve blue top and layered jewelry.

As a fellow glasses-wearer, I know how hard it is to find a pair of cute lenses that will look good with every outfit. Jordan’s frames are white with gold features. I find them completely adorable and the perfect accessory to her outfit.

2. Bodysuit

West Virginia University student wears a scoop-neck long-sleeve teal top tucked into a pair of embroidered high-waisted jeans with a chunky brown belt and layered gold necklaces.

Jordan’s forest green long-sleeve bodysuit pairs perfectly with the embroidery on her jeans. This color looks great on her and shows off her incredible skin and eyes.

3. Embroidered Jeans

Light-wash denim embroidered with pink, yellow, and red flowers.

Jordan’s favorite trend right now is floral embroidery. “I think it is the cutest little accent piece for any jeans, denim jackets, tops, or shoes,” she says. This small detail takes her outfit from simple to trendy.

4. Chunky Brown Heels

Chunky medium brown strappy block heels worn with cuffed skinny jeans.

Shoes are arguably the most important part of an outfit. Jordan matched her brown leather belt with this pair of brown leather chunky heels, which are perfect for walking around campus without killing your feet like normal heels would.

  1. I’m not a fan of the embroidery trend usually and I hate blue & blue-green colors with blue denim. However, for some reason I absolutely LOVE her look. She ties everything together so well. Her glasses are perfect for her and her eyes are gorgeous.
