From skirts and shorts to dresses and jackets, faux leather clothing has been popping up in stores everywhere lately, making it a bona fide fall trend. However, if you’re not sure how to incorporate these edgy pieces into your wardrobe, we’ve got you covered. Scroll on down to check out four outfit ideas incorporating four super-trendy faux leather items:

Outfit #1: Hanging with Friends

While leather pants can be somewhat tricky to pull off, faux leather leggings are an easygoing and comfortable alternative for fall. Start by pairing the leggings with a taupe-colored tunic for a stylish look. Next, add a men’s flannel shirt (go up a few sizes for a relaxed fit) and leave the buttons undone, creating a sort of oversized jacket. A cute pair of flats keeps the outfit casual, while a gray hat helps you stay cozy in chilly weather. For the finishing touch, accessorize with a simple, yet chic silver necklace.

Outfit #2: Date Night

The classic faux leather jacket has been given a makeover this season — it’s now available in tons of unique colors, styles and cuts. This teal-hued jacket has a nipped-in waistline, which creates a polished and chic look that works for day or night.

For this outfit, we dressed the jacket up by pairing it with an adorable floral print frock. Heeled ankle booties add a stylish touch, while sheer tights keep the look dressy. Add a pair of sparkly earrings and a sleek clutch for a classy, yet on-trend look that’s perfect for a night on the town.

Outfit #3: Headed to Class

Faux leather tops are a fashion-forward way to rock this trend, so for this next look, we used one to to create a practical and trendy on-campus outfit. Start by pairing the top with printed skinnies, then add an oversized cardigan for a comfy and stylish look. Moccasins continue the casual vibe, while a bold graphic tote adds interest. Accessorize with a leopard print watch and several gold bangles to complete this outfit.

Outfit #4: Party Time

If you’re a little wary about trying this trend, look for pieces that mix faux leather with other materials, like the paneled dress below. For this look, swap out the hot pink belt for a chic snake print one, then add blue pumps for a pop of color. A glam headband picks up on the color of the shoes, while a silver knuckle ring adds some edge. Grab a round crossbody bag for a party-worthy outfit incorporating faux leather.

Hihi! Love this post! My mom recently gave me a leather pencil skirt and I was kind of at loss. Thanks for this post! (Although if you have any specific suggestion for a pencil skirt, that would be great too!!)

First of all, I’m loving the faux-leather trend. I got a BCBG leather skirt a few months ago! I styled it with a cute Bella Dahl button-front I got at Nordstrom’s. I love all your suggestions so much. I’ve always been a bit afraid to try faux-leather leggings, but after seeing your pairings, I think I’ll have to invest in a pair and try it out! Thanks, CF!
