For the past couple of seasons, mules have seen a huge resurgence in the fashion world. And, although they were once relegated to the realm of frumpy old lady shoes, mules have recently been spotted on the feet of some of fashion’s hottest trendsetters, proving that granny-chic is hotter than ever.

However, with so many styles of mules to choose from–ranging from casual to boho to feminine–you may be wondering how to integrate this fun trend into your wardrobe.

Well, have no fear, because I’m here to show you three chic and easy outfits that incorporate mules, along with tips on how to style these of-the-moment shoes; just keep scrolling to see them all!

Mules Outfit #1

White-and-yellow striped short-sleeved collared button-up blouse with tie-front, small white cat-eye sunglasses with dark gray lenses, beige suede pointed-toe flat mules, cropped wide-legged jeans in medium stone wash with frayed hem, gold drop earrings with olive-green tassels, gold open cuff bracelet with sun shape at one end and moon shape at the other, denim bucket bag in light wash with drawstrings

This relaxed look is perfect for Spring, not only because it is so easy to just throw on and go, but also because it incorporates multiple trends in a subtle and fresh way that doesn’t scream “fashion victim.”

To start, put on a striped Gen Z Yellow blouse with a cute front-tie detail.  Next, add some wide-legged jeans with a subtly frayed hem and cropped length — all the better to show off these simple yet versatile mules whose neutral color, classic style, and under-$30 price tag make them a great option for anyone who is a little apprehensive about trying the trend.

Small cat-eye sunglasses are also a huge trend this season, so put on a chic pair of bright white ones that will pop against any skin tone.

Artsy jewelry, like these tassel earrings and cuff bracelet, add just the right amount of quirkiness to the look.

Finally, throw a light-wash denim bucket bag over your shoulder that’s sure to please your inner ’90s kid, and you’re all set!

Mules Outfit #2

Blue-and-white shimmer striped off-the-shoulder three-quarter-sleeve button-up blouse with tie at neck, high-rise medium-wash denim shorts with navy blue floral embroidery and frayed hem, gold necklace with ellipse-shaped turquoise pendant, gold necklace with open star, brown faux-tortoise round-frame sunglasses with brown lenses, frayed medium-wash denim pointed-toe mules, gold pavé circle earrings with dark blue stones, set of two smaller and one larger gold beaded stretch bracelets, cognac-brown faux leather backpack with two front pockets and braided zipper pulls

With just the right mix of casual and boho, this comfortable and laid-back look is a great option for wearing to class as the weather starts to warm up.

To get it, first put on a breezy off-the-shoulder top. Next, add a pair of feminine and flattering embroidered denim shorts and some denim mules, which offer up a whole new way to wear the denim-on-denim trend without going over the top.

Off-the-shoulder tops are perfect for showing off pretty necklaces, so layer on these delicate star and turquoise necklaces for just the right amount of sparkle.

Keep the rest of your jewelry low-key by putting on blue pavé stud earrings and a set of three gold beaded bracelets that would also look cool stacked with other bracelets if you’re in the mood to add an extra touch of glam.

To complete the look, put on a pair of classy faux-tortoise shades and a boho faux-leather backpack.

Mules Outfit #3

Red ruffled faux-wrap short-sleeved dress with small white polka dots, medium-sized gold zig-zag hoop earrings, tan round woven rattan cross-body bag with cognac-brown leather shoulder strap, white chunky-heeled double-strap mule sandals, gold necklace with rose pendant, set of four rings that includes gold ring with turquoise enamel, gold ring with clear stone, gold ring with three clear stones, and silver ring with triangle, gold loop cuff bracelet with chain going through, light-wash denim jacket

This final look would make such a cute date-night outfit, but would also look amazing any time you feel like dressing up a little.

Begin by putting on an adorable and über-trendy red-and-white polka-dotted dress. Then, slip on a pair of white double-strap mules that manage to look retro and flirty at the same time.

Woven bags are still going strong, so pick one up in an of-the-moment round shape.

As for jewelry, continue the romantic-yet-fun vibe by putting on a pair of unique zig-zag hoop earrings, a lovely rose necklace (I happen to own this exact piece, and it looks so pretty either on its own or layered with other necklaces), a set of tastefully mismatched stacking rings, and a chic cuff bracelet.

Finally, throw on a light-wash denim jacket for that casual-meets-dressy look, and you’ve got yourself a gorgeous look that you’ll want to wear all season long!
