5 Fashion-Forward Ways to Wear Mini Skirts This Season

Consider yourself a trendy fashionista? Your closet should be full of stylish skirts.
Publish date:

Out of the biggest trends predicted for 2018, mini skirts stuck out to me. They have been a classic staple for years and years, but this staple is not just a necessity this season; it is a fashion YES.

Mini skirts can come in a variety of prints, patterns, colors, lengths, and so on. One day, you could be strutting in a leather skirt with that edgy vibe, and the next you could be living life in your denim skirt. The options are endless. But how do you style them once you stock up?

Here are 5 skirt outfits for every type of fashionista, and for all different occasions.

Outfit 1: Edgy Skirt Outfit

Edgy skirt outfit with black leather skirt, black moto jacket, black cami, black over-the-knee boots, black shoulder bag, jewelry, black stud earrings and glam phone case

Products: Top – H&M, Purse – Justfab, Jacket – Nordstrom, Skirt – H&M, Shoes - Amazon, Phone Case – Casetify, Earrings – H&M, Bracelet – Charlotte Russe

All black everything – you can never go wrong with this combo. A satin, lace-trimmed camisole and leather mini skirt paired with suede over-the-knee boots is the perfect combination for an edgy vibe. Every girl needs a leather (or faux leather) skirt; I definitely recommend you invest!

Outfit 2: Classy Chic Skirt Outfit

Classy chic skirt outfit with black circle skirt, black pumps, navy jewel collar sweater, black shoulder bag, classic watch, diamond stud earrings

Products: Top – H&M, Pumps – Amazon, Watch – Nordstrom Rack, Lipstick – Princess Polly, Earrings – Nordstrom Rack, Purse – Toms, Skirt – Boohoo

For those classy, elegant occasions, a simple solid black circle skirt is ideal. Simple circle skirts are classic and will have you looking absolutely fabulous! The flirty skirt + heels combination is everything.

Outfit 3: Comfy Cute Day Date Outfit

Comfy cute skirt outfit for a daytime date: Denim mini skirt with gray turtleneck sweater, pink quilted shoes, stud earrings, pink plaid scarf, marble phone case, mini backpack

Products: Top – H&M, Shoes – Nordstrom, Earrings – Nordstrom Rack, Skirt – Topshop, Scarf – H&M, Lipstick – Nordstrom, Phone Case – Nordstrom, Backpack – Mango

We all love those comfy, casual days. Whether you are on a date strolling through a park or going out for lunch, pair a cute top (in this case, a sweater because winter) with a stylish denim skirt. Denim skirts make any look more fashionable and all your favorite stores will be full of them this spring. Light wash or dark, you can never go wrong.

Outfit 4: Night Out Outfit

Skirt outfit for a night out: Blue velour skirt, black v-neck bodysuit, black studded ankle boots, black shoulder bag, layered necklaces, dark lipstick

Products: Shoes – Nordstrom, Top – H&M, Lipstick – Macys, Necklace – Amazon, Skirt – Boohoo, Purse – YOINS

Your night out will be even better when you look and feel amazing. My favorite “going out” outfit includes a bodysuit and recently, a velvet mini skirt. Velvet is in, and a velvet skirt is ultra glamorous and cute. When you look good, you feel good.

Outfit 5: Bold and Trendy Skirt Outfit

Trendy skirt outfit with blue embroidered mini skirt, beige wrap top, white ankle boots, gold jewelry, beige shoulder bag, The Future is Female phone case

Products: Top – River Island, Skirt – Nordstrom, Boots – Steve Madden, Rings – Forever 21, Lipstick – Saks Fifth Ave, Earrings – Forever 21, Phone Case – Nordstrom, Purse – Nordstrom

Another denim skirt? Of course! Embroidery (especially on denim) is extremely popular right now, as are white boots. For a trendsetter, this is the perfect outfit!

Are you mini skirt obsessed?

You can never go wrong with a skirt. A skirt is a classic. Edgy or classy, preppy or trendy, no matter what, a skirt is always in style. It can easily be one of your “go-to” staples and can be worn in all different ways, with a variety of options to choose from.

My closet is overflowing with skirts, what about you? Jump on the bandwagon, fashionistas – this trend is not going anywhere.
