My name's Ali Straka and during my time writing for College Fashion, I was a 21-year-old entering my senior year as a magazine journalism major and textile and apparel management minor at the University of Missouri. Now I'm an alumnae of Mizzou (and College Fashion) and working in social media and marketing for a national bridal shoe company.
I'm still a self-proclaimed pop culture junkie who has loved all things fashion since toddlerdom. My not-so-guilty pleasures include Bravo reality TV (Real Housewives and Millionaire Matchmaker, anyone?), celebrity gossip blogs, and '90s teen soaps ("Dawson or Pacey?" consumed my fourth grade self's thoughts). It's tough for me to sum up my personal style because I love so many different looks, but my ultimate style icon has always been (and will always be) Jackie Kennedy Onasis. And I sometimes wished I lived in the '60s just for the fashions.

(Photo Credit) At the start of a long week, sometimes the only thing that gets you through the madness of deadlines, assignments and classes is daydreaming about the festivities of the weekend to come. I’ve been guilty of plotting out my next weekend-night adventures on Sunday morning – and those daydreams always revolve around what […]
(Photo Credit) Think back to elementary school when you still believed boys had cooties and the mere thought of kissing caused a whiny chorus of “Ewww!” Love certainly wasn’t on the brain then, yet, if you were like me, you still relished in the innocuous fun of Valentine’s Day. It was a major event: picking […]
