Slip Dresses L-R: Revolve, Macy’s, Revolve

Super popular in the ’90s, slip dresses certainly aren’t a new trend.

Over the years, however, the slip dress has evolved from being a trendy pajama-esque piece into a bona fide wardrobe staple.

While the pajama look hasn’t left us entirely, you can now buy slip dresses in all varieties, that will surely fit anyone’s style. When it comes to slip dresses, you can now play with length, prints, and even cut outs. It’s all about what suits your own personal style.

Today, I’ll show you how to wear a slip dress for class and a night out.

How to Style a Slip Dress for Class:

Products: Slip Dress – Lulu’s, T Shirt – Hollister, Shoes – Macy’s, Sunglasses – H&M, Tote – Macy’s, Jean Jacket – Abercrombie

This print slip dress from Lulu’s is perfect for a day to night transformation.

For our daytime look we’re going to add a T-shirt under our slip dress. If you’re like us, you have tons of white tees lying around. While any one will do just fine, a crew neck is ideal for this dress’ silhouette. In colder months, depending on your climate, you can still wear this trend — just swap out your T-shirt for a turtleneck, and you’ll be set.

Finishing off any look with some outwear is always a safe bet. Especially when you’re in classes all day, and there’s no telling what the weather will look like once you finally emerge!

How to Style a Slip Dress for a Night Out:

Products: Slip Dress – Lulu’s, Lipstick – Saks 5th Avenue, Belt – Express, Clutch – Macy’s, Shoes – Amazon, Earrings – Mango

For our nighttime look we’re going to do away with that T-shirt. It’s time to unwind and let loose! Wear the dress as-is and throw on a few extras.

For accessories, stick to gold, as gold pieces pair well with the print in our dress. These earrings from Mango are so chic! This belt from Express is on-trend, as it’s a corset belt. It adds on an extra layer of style as you enjoy your night out.
