The comedy Easy A stars Emma Stone, as Olive, an unnoticed girl in high school. The film begins with Olive telling a little white lie that quickly spirals out of control, and soon enough, everyone at school knows who she is. (But for all the wrong reasons!)

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, the trailer perfectly sums up the storyline:

This post will feature three looks inspired by Olive’s outfits in the film. The first two ensembles are cute and casual everyday looks, while the last is based on the bold, provocative style Olive rocks once she decides to embrace her newfound (yet totally false) reputation. Scroll down to see them all:

Plaid & Teal

Easy A School Outfit

In this look, Olive pairs a plaid blouse with a teal-colored cardigan. This casual yet girly outfit is ideal for school days or even as a laid-back ensemble for a cooler summer afternoon.

Easy A Plaid Outfit

Cardigan, Flats, Top, Necklace, Jeans

Recreate the outfit by pairing skinny jeans with a peplum blouse; this coral-colored top has a subtle plaid pattern like Olive’s. Play with color by layering a teal cardigan over the shirt. Complete the look with classic ballet flats and a delicate pendant necklace.

Simple Statement

This next look is comprised of basics, but the accessories really amp up the style. Olive paired her simple jeans and tank combo with gold statement jewelry to keep the outfit from looking too plain.

Easy A Necklace Earrings Outfit

Tank, Shoes, Jeans, Necklace, Earrings

This Olive-inspired outfit is so easy to recreate. In fact, you probably have most (if not all) of these pieces in your closet already! Start with dark wash jeans and a basic black tank top. Jazz up the look with jewelry, such as a long, chain link necklace and these matching drop earrings.

Finish the outfit with your favorite black shoes; whether it’s a pair of flats or booties, you’ll look super-cute in this casual ensemble.

Scarlet Letter

Easy A Scarlet Letter Outfit

Official Promotional Image

Olive wore this look once she decided to take charge of an otherwise bad situation by donning a Scarlet Letter-inspired red “A”. This is one of the most recognizable outfits in the movie, and a similar getup works perfectly for a night out or any occasion when you want to show off your rebellious side.

Easy A Scarlet Letter Look

Top, Bag, Jeans, Necklace, Sunglasses, Heels

To recreate Olive’s signature ensemble, start with a black strapless top and skinny jeans. Add a pair of dark wayfarer sunglasses and a trendy fringe handbag. Go for a pair of black pumps or flats to finish off this all-black look. Sewing a red “A” to your top may be a little out of your style comfort zone, so instead make a subtle statement with a red pendant necklace.

What are your thoughts?
