Fashion loves to repeat itself: Varsity jackets are officially back again. A simple jacket that started off in high schools, worn by jocks, athletes, and their girlfriends, slowly but surely became a staple of celebrities and fashion industry insiders. And the trend has returned this season.
Depending on where you buy yours, varsity jackets can be as low as $11 to as high as $100.
Here are some ideas for how you can wear a varsity jacket on campus and to a late afternoon/evening out to a sports game. (It’s almost baseball season!)
How to Style a Varsity Jacket – Outfit for Class:
The look for class is simple but fashionable. The varsity jacket is not only made of faux fur, it says “taken” with an upside down heart on the back. This is a super cute jacket, whether you want to show off your relationship status or just wear it as a funny and ironic piece.
The t-shirt is another unique statement piece. In reference to Netflix’s most popular show “Stranger Things,” this shirt gives every girl the confidence they need. Who wouldn’t want to be an eleven in a world of tens?
How to Style a Varsity Jacket – Outfit for a Sports Game:
Whether you’re going to a sports game with your significant other or friends, no doubt should you do a sporty look. This look would be perfect for a late afternoon into evening game once baseball season starts.
Again, I paired this outfit with a graphic tee however you can never go wrong with wearing a team tee or jersey. (This set, for instance, is based around red as a primary color for the team – adjust your jacket accordingly!)
If you wear a graphic tee, matching the colors of that tee and varsity jacket is best for a killer outfit. Having a fanny pack instead of a huge tote is better because you won’t have to worry about your purse all night, especially if you like to stand up in the stands during the event. For your makeup look, a little mascara and lipstick is all that’s needed for this sporty look (of course you can do more if that’s your vibe).
