When we think of dressing for holiday parties–even more laid-back ones–jeans aren’t typically the first article of clothing to come to mind. In fact, most of us tend to think that jeans are best reserved for more casual events. However, I’m here to challenge that notion, as I believe that jeans can be made appropriate for many more occasions than we give them credit for! (Rocking jeans is one of my favorite holiday style tips.)

That’s why I decided to put together three festively chic outfits for holiday parties–all of which are styled around jeans.

How to Dress Up for a Party with Jeans: Outfit #1

How to dress up for a party with jeans - cute holiday party outfit idea with black jeans, These Three Outfits Prove That You Should Wear Jeans to All of Your Holiday Parties | Outfit #1

Products: Top – Zara, Heeled Sandals – Zara, Jeans – Nordstrom, Earrings – Revolve, Evening Bag – Zara, Body Oil – Sol Body

For this look, I wanted to create a glam outfit with jeans that you can wear to your chicest holiday parties! I used pieces that you don’t have to think too much about putting together, since they all share a simple-yet-statement-making black and gold color scheme.

To copy it, put on a cute going-out top with an interesting “crumpled” fabric detail. Next, add a pair of on-trend high-waisted straight-leg jeans to balance out the top’s more fitted and slightly cropped silhouette.

For shoes, go for a super-chic and fun pair of stiletto sandals that can definitely be worn again with different pieces throughout the holiday season (and beyond).

As far as jewelry and accessories go, I think that this type of outfit looks best with one to two statement pieces. So, go all out with a pair of dangly chandelier earrings and an eye-catching gold beaded evening bag with a fringe to give it plenty of movement.

To complete this dramatic ensemble, add a few pumps of shimmering body oil ( which is available in five shades to suit a variety of skin tones) on your arms, shoulders, and décolleté to literally make yourself glow all night long!

Party Outfit: #2

Products: Top – J.Crew, Clutch – Sole Society, Heels – Sole Society, Jeans – Zara, Blazer – Zara (Similar here in other sizes), Earrings – J.Crew Factory, Bracelet – Anthropologie

Unlike Outfit #1, Outfit #2 is preppier and more subdued. Therefore, it’s more appropriate for events such as (business-casual) office holiday parties or family get-togethers.

To get the look, style a cute red lace tie-neck halter top with a pair of classic dark-wash skinny jeans. Then, add a pair of dark green bow slingback kitten heels for a festive holiday vibe. (Note that if you don’t celebrate Christmas and/or just don’t like red and green together, both the top and the shoes are available in other colors.)

A luxe tuxedo-inspired blazer takes the dressiness of the outfit up several notches. Furthermore, dangling drop earrings and a sparkly star cuff bracelet add just the right amount of shine.

Finally, pick up a pearl-embellished tweed clutch, which adds a healthy dose of preppy charm to this classy and put-together look.

Party Outfit: #3

Products: Top – Nordstrom, Evening Bag – Revolve, Heeled Sandals – Nordstrom, Jeans – Nordstrom, Hair Clip Set – Anthropologie, Bracelet – Anthropologie, Lip Gloss – Sephora

I put together the third and final look was put together with fun and trendy holiday parties in mind. Moreover, as you may be able to tell, this outfit takes inspiration from the 2000s. (Hello, flared jeans and sparkly hair clips!) However, it does so in a way that’s fresh and modern–not outdated.

As far as I’m concerned, no holiday outfit post would be complete without a sequined item! So, put on this beautiful blue sequined top, which reminds me of a shimmering night sky. After that, throw on a pair of comfortable flared jeans. Here, I chose a dark-wash pair, but really, any shade of blue or black would work just as well.

Pretty metallic heeled sandals add height to balance out the jeans’ wider leg opening. The silver color of this pair is also a nice change from the shades of yellow and rose gold that we typically see on metallic pieces.

Hair clips are still all the rage this season. Therefore, don’t be shy put a few (or a bunch!) of these disco-ball-esque ones in your hair for a fun way to add even more glitz without going over the top.

Speaking of shine, I couldn’t resist this super-gorgeous hand-embroidered bracelet, which adds a luxurious touch to the look.

To make even more of a statement, grab a glam and glittery evening bag with a trendy feather trim.

Lastly, swipe on some sheer, sparkly lip gloss as you head out the door to round out this super-stylish ensemble.
