My Top 5 Favorite Bronzers of All Time

Top 5 bronzers

Hey girls! It’s that time of year again:  the sun is shining, it’s getting warm enough to wear shorts and skirts, and everyone seems to want to look bronzed and beautiful.

Today, I’m going to share my top 5 favorite bronzing products because summer is just around the corner. Whether you’re naturally bronzed and want a little extra kick or are naturally super pale and want to get bronzed the safe way, these products will help you out!

1) Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Benefit cosmetics hoola
Benefit Hoola Bronzer — $28

This bronzer is my all time favorite high-end bronzer because it’s matte, goes well with my skin tone, and contours better than any other bronzer I’ve ever tried. It’s a matte product, so it doesn’t give you a glow-y finish, but will help define and contour your face while also giving you some color.

2) NARS Laguna Bronzer

Nars laguna bronzer
NARS Laguna Bronzer — $36

Though it’s pricey, this renowned bronzer definitely does its job! Laguna has a little bit of shimmer in it, giving you that pretty glow, but has a matte finish, which is excellent for face contouring.

3) Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in Vegas Strip

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips in Vegas Strip — $11.99

This bronzer is one that I put on when I want to give my face a subtle glow. I love that this product has five shades to choose from, so you can either combine all of them to give your cheeks some color or you can pick individual strips and use them as a highlight for on top of your cheek bones.

4) N.Y.C. Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny

Nyc smooth skin
N.Y.C. Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny — $2.79

This product is definitely comparable to NARS Laguna bronzer… for a tiny portion of the price. The bronzer itself is also very matte and does an excellent job at contouring. Plus, at less than $3, how could you pass this one up?

5) Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow and Mood Boosting Powder in Light Bronzer

Physicians formula happy boost
Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow and Mood Boosting Powder in Light Bronzer — $13.95

I love, love, love this bronzer! It adds such a natural glow to your skin, which makes you look irresistibly bronzy. I also love the fact that some of the hearts in this bronzer are pink because those can double as a natural blush. This is among the most shimmery of the bronzers I’ve featured today – truly, this product will give you the best shimmery cheeks ever.

What do you think?

Have you ever tried any of these bronzers before? Do you like wearing bronzer? What’s your favorite bronzer that isn’t on this list? Let me know in the comments below!

I’m a huge fan of Too Faced bronzers! I’ve never been let down & I’ve tried 4 of them! My favorites are the new 16-Hour Bronzer, Peach Leopard, & Sun Bunny!

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I know this is probably basic stuff to most ladies, but could you do a post on how to apply bronzer in a natural way?? I have very fair, cool undertoned skin, and have always shied away from bronzer, as I am scared it will make me look fake & orange!!

Mandy, I’ll have to try it out sometime!

Emily, I think that sounds like a great idea!

Loved this post, because currently, matte bronzer is the love of my life, and I have some stuff I’d love to rave about!

I’m with Mandy on the Too Faced bronzers, except the one I use every day is the Chocolate Soleil – it is made with cocoa powder (wearing chocolate daily is so gratifying for a choco-fiend like me!) and is the most perfect color for contour – you should see what it does to my face! It also comes in a milk chocolate color, which is a few shades lighter, for fairer skin tones.

So Emily, you may try the Milk Chocolate Soleil bronzer. Use it with a big fluffy tapered brush and sweep it under your cheek bones, on your temples, and around your face. (And my favorite part is contouring my nose too!) Make sure there’s no harsh lines and BOOM – you’ve got a Victoria’s Secret Angel face. Or if there’s no time for all that fuss, you can just do a very light all over dusting – bronzer adds definition to your face no matter how you apply it.

I always just use Chocolate Soleil with a Maybelline FIT concealer to highlight. And if I need a bit of a glow, I dust on Urban Decay’s Gilded bronzer all over my face. It’s baked with gold flakes in it, so it gives an absolutely stunning, gorgeous, tan-of-the-islands shimmer.

The Sephora bronzer from their Sculpting Disk is my favourite so far :)

The NYC one looks like a great one to get started. I’m a little shy of contouring right now because I’m afraid of it looking too powdery and obvious like on the sides of my nose.

I absolutely love Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips! It is very shimmery (of course!) but I just put a light sweep on the tops of my cheeks after I’ve applied everything else and it looks great. It’s also AWESOME as eyeshadow! It looks best when applied with your fingers and I get so many compliments. It’s my go-to eye makeup!
