I’ve made my list and I’ve checked it twice.

I love giving gifts, I love the Christmas season, and I love making lists. So December is here and I’ve already made my list of things I want to give all my friends and family. It’s my favorite thing to brainstorm ideas and then gradually check off names one by one as I’ve found the perfect gift, complete with wrapping paper and a bow.

I always want to know what other people have needed or wanted this year, but it’s helpful for my friends and family as the holiday grows close to know what I want. Here are a few things that I’m hoping to see under the Christmas tree, or that I might just treat myself to!

1. Em Cosmetics Lip Gloss Kit

This color range is gorgeous!

Em cosmetics is owned and run by Michelle Phan the former YouTuber. Em cosmetics was previously owned by L’Oreal and used to have very large ‘Life” palettes, which contained blushes/bronzers, eye, and lip shades. Since withdrawing from Youtube, Michelle purchased her company back, and now they only have eyeliners and lip products so far. She really takes the time to think about each and every product, the packaging, and its formula.

Last year I bought the holiday set with her eyeliners and liquid lipsticks, and her lipsticks are my favorite formula hands down. I’m really exited to try her glosses, which I know will be as amazing as her other products. You can buy them here, on her brand website.

2. Jade Face Roller

I’m so curious how these are.

The beauty and skincare world has exploded with rollers and people everywhere are raving about them. While I don’t know of any scientific studies about the benefits of jade, or face rolling, many people have sworn that these rollers help with lymphoid draining and helping to push skincare benefits deeper into the skin. They seem so exciting to me, and I’d love to try one out. This one can be found at Sephora, but they also sell other versions on Amazon

3. Apple AirPods

So many people have raved about these, I want to try them.

When apple first came out with AirPods, I didn’t really pay attention. I still am using non-bluetooth headphones, and I like them just fine. However, I’ve since upgraded to a phone without a headphone jack, and having to make choices between charging my phone and listening to stuff (totally a first world problem) is annoying. I’ve heard really good things about the AirPods, and I love the Apple headphone design, they feel much better in my ears. At some point I just know I’m going to splurge and get them.

4. Reusable Cotton Pads

These are made from organic bamboo, and are machine washable.

In 2019, one of my goals is to learn to be more eco-friendly as an individual consumer. One of the things I use pretty much every day and then immediately throw away are cotton pads. Even if I’m not removing makeup (which I usually am) I’m using them to tone my face or apply powder and that waste adds up. Cotton requires a lot of land to grow and huge amounts of water, so if I could stop my reliance on cotton pads for cosmetic reasons I would love to.

The ones above are less than $15 and are a Prime item, which means you can order last minute and still manage to make it to Christmas for your beauty obsessed friend like me, who’s trying to reduce the waste their products create.

5. Everlane Duffle Bag

Everlane is an ethical company, this bag is made in Vietnam and you can see pictures of the factory.

I’ve had the same duffle bag since fourth grade, and two years ago it died on me. Since then I haven’t had a good weekender bag, and since I’m planning to study abroad this upcoming school year, so now is the time to get one.

Everlane is a company I’ve heard amazing things about, they sell simple, quality items and pride themselves on transparency. This Movers Bag can be carried top, duffle style and like a backpack. It’s made from nylon so it’s waterproof, and comes with multiple compartments, instead of just a big main one like most bags. Sign me up.

What’s on your Christmas list?

I would love to hear what you put on your list, or what you are planning to buy your friends and family this year? Did anything on the list inspire you to give to someone? Let me know in the comments below as we celebrate the upcoming holiday!
