Michaela Pratt on How to Get Away with Murder

If you’re reading this post, you, like me, are probably wondering how you can possibly wait for January to find out what happens on the uber-addicting show How to Get Away With Murder. I can’t tell you who started the fire, but I can give you a little HTGAWM fashion fix.

Michaela Pratt, played by the gorgeous Aja Naomi King, is my favorite character on the show. She’s smart, driven, stylish, and kind of mysterious. I love seeing her rise to Annalise’s challenges, but I love seeing her sit on the couch, gossip, and eat ice cream with her BFF Connor even more. (It’s just a tad more relatable.)

Michaela’s style is polished, girly, a little preppy and a little sexy. You could probably recreate a lot of her looks with pieces already in your closet (cozy sweaters and skinnies, bandage dresses, mini skirts).

Below, I’ve styled Michaela-worthy outfits for every occasion. You can totally get away with stealing her look.

Class

Products: Sweater – Oasis, Jeans – Mango, Booties – Justfab, Bar necklace – Nordstrom, Layered necklace – Old Navy

The easiest Michaela outfit formula? Skinny jeans (dark denim, gray, or black) + a cozy sweater (bonus points if it’s striped or floral) + delicate jewelry. Sleek and simple heeled booties are a great finishing touch, but black ballet flats would be perfect, too. You could even add strappy stilettos for a casual party.

To head to class, find a great structured tote or top-handle bag for holding all your essentials. You’ll have your top-of-the-class trophy in hand in no time.

Night Out

Products: Dress – Dorothy Perkins, Heels – GoJane, Bag – Mango, Earrings – Bloomingdales

Although Michaela’s style is usually pretty classic, she isn’t afraid of rocking a more flirty look for a night out.  A bandage dress is the Michaela pick for fancy occasions. In lieu of a clutch, try a cute, chain-strap mini bag.

Even when she gets glam, Michaela doesn’t over-accessorize. Swap out your everyday studs for dangly, delicate earrings and maybe add a couple metallic bracelets or rings. Strappy sandals finish the drop-dead gorgeous look.

Work

Products: Blazer – Macy’s, Top – Eloquii, Skirt – J.Crew Factory, Heels- GoJane, Earrings – Lord & Taylor

Michaela dresses to impress when she’s working a case. Look professional but not boring in a printed skirt (plaid and abstract floral are Michaela faves) that hits just above the knee. Pair with a bow-neck blouse for a look that’s classy and feminine.

A structured jacket pulls everything together, be it in the form of a tweed moto, classic knit blazer, or perfectly tailored, long coat. Add cool black heels, one or two pieces of simple jewelry, and black tights. Talk about killing it.

What do you think?

Do you watch HTGWM?  What do you think of Michaela’s style?  Which of these looks is your fave?  Let me know in the comments!

What a coincidence…I’ve been binge watching this weekend…
Please do one on Laurel’s style! And Annalise’s coats are to die for.
