Autumn is quickly approaching, and if you’re looking to ease into a few seasonal ensembles, LOFT’s August “Monthly Edit” is the perfect source of inspiration.
This lookbook is filled with effortlessly cool getups that bridge the gap between summer and fall. Just scroll on down to see how you can snag three of those looks on a college girl budget.
1. Burgundy + Pink
This colorful combination is everything. While the above look is ideal for the office or an internship, I decided to make the inspired version below a bit more casual for a day spent on campus or running errands.
Start with a slouchy burgundy top that has a unique neckline, then slip on a pair of blush pink skinnies. Opt for comfy-chic pointed-toe flats and stash your belongings in a crossbody bag with faux suede detailing. For the finishing touch of autumnal glamour, choose a deep, oxblood-hued lip color.
2. All Buttoned Up
From the mustard yellow cardigan right down to the heeled boots, this prim and polished outfit pretty much screams “fall!”
Tuck a dark floral blouse into a button-front denim skirt. The cozy, oversized cardigan provides a pop of cheery color, while lace-up wedge booties are oh-so perfect for autumn. For the finishing touch, go for earthy yet glam jewelry, like these rainbow drusy threader earrings.
3. Modern Victorian
Victorian-inspired fashion has been all over the runways the last few seasons, and this look nods to the trend in a cool, contemporary way.
Choose a high-neck blouse that has lace detailing, then pair it with crisp shorts that tie at the waist. For a fall-like dose of color, try these rust-hued shoes. Accessorize with stacked rings, polished off with a wine-red manicure.
