Patio

One of my favorite things to do in the summer has to be patio-hopping. I enjoy going to any restaurant with a patio because it gives me an excuse to dress up and look nice (hello, Insta photo op!). Catching up with friends outdoors and soaking up the sun, enjoying an icy cold drink in your hand… it’s the perfect summer activity.

Patios and rooftop restaurants are always among the hottest spots in town (both literally and figuratively), so it’s important to dress to impress! Here are three different outfits to wear to a patio:

1. Casual Patio

Products: Dress – Topshop, Shoes – Steve Madden, Sunglasses – Quay Australia, Earrings – Mejuri, Bag – Urban Outfitters

I love a good linen dress for two reasons – 1) the texture of linen screams summer, and 2) the fabric is super breathable so you won’t drown in your own sweat. This bohemian-style midi dress from Topshop is flowy to keep you cool all day, and it has these trendy tortoise buttons make the dress stand out from the crowd.

Complete this summer look with a round straw bag and a pair of white sandals. I love the trend of straw for this summer – it makes you feel like you’re on vacation in Greece. The gold accent of the earrings echoes the yellow tones of the bag and shoes. Of course, don’t forget your shades in case it gets too sunny!

2. Dive Bar Patio

Products: Top – Forever 21, Culottes – Zara, Shoes – Steve Madden, Bag – Boohoo

This outfit is for the dressier girls who want to look nice, but not too nice. Culottes are an amazing piece to dress up an outfit without being too over-the-top. They keep you cool and breezy when you’re baking under the sun.

These pretty culottes from Zara will easily become the focal point of your outfit. The light pink is a wonderful color for summer, so pair it with accessories that are in lighter, neutral colors to complement the softness of the pink. A pair of sandals with a tiny bit of a heel will dress up the outfit as well.

3. Fancy Rooftop Patio

Products: Jumpsuit – Lulu’s, Heels – Aldo, Clutch – ASOS

You’re sure to feel cool and confident in a long jumpsuit, so that’s why it’s a perfect fashion choice for a fancy occasion. If you get a chance to go to a rooftop patio, make an impression by wearing this gorgeous lavender jumpsuit. The backless design shows a bit of skin while keeping the entire look super classy.

To avoid the jumpsuit overwhelming your figure, wear a pair of beige heels to help elongate your body. Add a gold, glittery clutch in a special shape (like the circle one here) to help build more character into your outfit.
