Whatever it takes, I know I can make it through.
But, not without some help!
Sometimes it’s hard to put into words exactly what you’re feeling, and all you need is to see your feelings summed up by someone else’s words. This is why poetry, quotes and song lyrics are so important to many of us.
No matter what feelings are swirling around inside, there is something out there to make you feel resolute in the way you are feeling.
Here is a collection of poems and quotes that have helped me, and so many others, in times of need. Hopefully you will find something that resonates with you:
For Remembering Your Self-Worth:
“What’s the greatest lesson a woman should learn? That since day one, she’s already had everything she needs within herself. It’s the world that has convinced her she did not.” – Rupi Kaur
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
“We accept the love we think we deserve.” – Stephen Chbosky
“The universe took its time on you, crafted you precisely so you could offer the world something distinct from everyone else. So when you doubt how you were created you doubt an energy greater than us both.” – Rupi Kaur
“Your mountain may be harder to climb but oh the view is divine.” – Jennae Cecelia
“Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.” – Dalai Lama
“Take a sad song and make it better.” – The Beatles
“So it goes.” – Kurt Vonnegut
For When You’re Struggling:
“It’s not about being your best, it’s about being better than you were yesterday.” – Unknown
“I’m thankful for my struggle, because without it I wouldn’t have stumbled across my strength.” – Alex Elle
“Life is too important to be taken seriously.” – Oscar Wilde
“I am not so much broken as I am bruised, but wounds heal and hearts find other pieces to close up their holes, and I will always stand tall and prevail in the morning.” – MAIA
“What’s comin’ will come and we’ll meet it when it does.” – Hagrid
For When You Need to Let Go:
“One of the happiest moments in life is when you find the courage to let go of what you cannot change.” – Unknown
“And we clutch that picture to our hearts because we expect each other to always be the people in that picture. But people change. People aren’t pictures. And you can either take a new picture or throw away the old one.” – “The First Time We Met”, Iain S. Thomas
“Accept what is, let go of what was, have faith in what will be.” – Anonymous
“But remember, where it ends is also where it begins” – MAIA
For When You Need Some Positivity:
“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” – Audrey Hepburn
“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or we can rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.” – Abraham Lincoln
“No day but today.” – from RENT
“If you were born with the weakness to fall you were born with the strength to rise.” – Rupi Kaur
“Whatever makes you feel the sun from the inside out, chase that.” – Gemma Troy
For When You Know You’re That Girl:
“She dressed herself in confidence every day, and refused to wear anybody else’s insecurities.” – A.J. Lawless
“Be easy to love, hard to break, and impossible to forget.” – JmStorm
“You were born with the ability to change someone’s life. Don’t ever waste it.” – Unknown
A Final Note…
Words have and always will be so important to me. Here an excerpt from a poem I have been holding close lately:
“The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep.” – “Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening”, Robert Frost
