It may only be August, but if you’ve got a fall formal event on your agenda, it’s already time to start dress-hunting. Whether you’re attending a Greek Life formal event or Homecoming, finding the perfect dress is essential. As always, CF is here to help!

Because Great Style Can Be Borrowed…Welcome to Charlotte’s Closet.

As you may know, renting a gown is our favorite strategy for formals. By renting, you can get a high-end dress for less than retail, AND you aren’t stuck with it once your event is over. (Let’s face it – you’ll rarely wear a formal dress twice.)

The new web-based service Charlotte’s Closet allows you to borrow designer dress styles for every special occasions including homecoming and all formals for up to 75% off retail. On-trend choices from established and up-and-coming designers are added regularly, perfect for college girls.

Current designers include: BCBGeneration, French Connection, Blush, Jolene, Josh and Jazz, Dave & Johnny, Riva, plus many more.

How Charlotte’s Closet Works:

Here’s a rundown of the Charlotte’s Closet borrowing system:

Browse to find styles you like, select your event date and enter sizes (one is FREE to ensure the perfect fit), receive the dress, wear it, and return it with the prepaid UPS label. A small insurance fee covers normal wear (stains, loose beading). Many designer dresses can be borrowed for around $50 (but retailing for $200 and up!)

Want to try on the dress first? No problem! You can book a private fitting at their NYC showroom and reserve your dress up to five months in advance. Come September, the brand will also launch an at-home try-on service.

Our Charlotte’s Closet Picks

Here are some of our favorite dresses available now at Charlotte’s Closet:
