Hannah is a dedicated Kansas City native who loves to represent her city any chance she gets. Her outfit is quintessentially her: it’s modern and so “city girl.”

Here, she pairs her denim jacket and blue hat with a pair of stylish purple Adidas sneakers – the perfect pop of color for this sporty outfit. This look is perfect for a fashionable student that has to get across campus in chilly weather, but wants to look trendy while doing it.

Kansas City native Hannah wears a black tee with black cuffed jeans, an oversized denim menswear jacket, and a blue KC hat. To add a pop of color, she wears magenta Adidas sneakers with her relaxed look.

Hannah 101

Name: Hannah

School: Kansas State University

Year: Sophomore

Major: Apparel Marketing and Advertising

Hometown: Overland Park, KS

Let’s Talk Fashion

Who or what inspires your style? “Instagram really influences my style. Everytime I see something cool, I save it and I try and find clothes that look similar. Kendall Jenner is also one of my biggest influences. I really love her street style.”

Where do you like to shop? “I love to shop at Urban Outfitters and ASOS.”

How would you describe your sense of style? “I would describe my style as street style or retro. I wear a lot of clothes you would’ve seen in the ’80s.”

Why did you choose this particular outfit? “I chose this outfit because it was simple yet chic for class.”

What fashion advice would you give to other students looking to improve their style? “I would say to definitely look at Instagram and see what people are wearing. I follow a lot of bloggers and their styles influence me.”

What are your favorite trends right now? “I love big sleeves and the color mustard.”

Do you have any favorite fashion designers? If so, who? “Calvin Klein is my favorite designer. I love [the design house’s] minimal take on clothes and mainly [their] black and white clothes.”

What do you do for fun – do you have any unique hobbies or interests? “I am really involved in photography. It’s always been a passion of mine. I am also involved in the fashion club at my school. I am also joining the advertising club at my school and making things on Adobe programs when I have free time.”

If you could raid anyone’s closet, who would it be and why? “I would raid @tezzamb on Instagram. She models for Free People, and she is very free spirited, and I love the overall look of her outfits. She always wears things I would never think of wearing.”

Elements of Hannah’s Outfit

1. Jean Jacket

Hannah wears a black tee with a light-wash distressed denim oversized jacket with the sleeves rolled up.

This oversized denim piece is a necessity in every college girl’s closet now days. It dresses up even the most casual outfits and has a total vintage-thrift shop vibe.

2. KC Hat

This soft blue KC hat is the perfect accessory for a Kansas girl having a messy hair day.

Hannah’s hometown hat adds a personal touch to her outfit. After talking to her, it is clear she loves her city and what better way to express that than by showing the world what you represent?

3. Magenta Kicks

Purple adidas sneakers on campus at Kansas State University

These sneakers are what I would call the “outfit maker.” These trendy Adidas kicks (the style is actually called “Campus”), transform Hannah’s outfit from just a black and blue ensemble into a statement that’s fashionable from head to toe.

Now we want to know what you think!

Magenta sneakers – how amazing are they? Would you wear Hannah’s denim jacket? Let us know what you think below!
