Jackie took a simple outfit, then added a black jacket and boots to turn it into the perfect class-to-happy-hour look.

Talk about a great style for the fickle weather this time of year! Jackie could easily go without the jacket if the sun was shining in the afternoon, but is nice and warm for chilly temps.

Jefferson University student Jackie styles her simple white turtleneck sweater with a black motorcycle jacket with silver zipper detailing, a pair of high-waisted light-wash denim jeans with distressed knees, and a pair of chunky-heeled booties.

Let’s Talk Fashion

Who or what inspires your style? “Pop culture.”

Where do you like to shop? “Forever 21, Boohoo, Garage, and Cotton On.”

How would you describe your sense of style? “Simple, glam, and urban.”

Why did you choose this particular outfit? “I like the jeans a lot because of the knee rips and light wash. I really like turtlenecks and I think the leather jacket adds something cool.”

What fashion advice would you give to other students looking to improve their style? “[I would advise them] to go through all [their] clothing now and see what [they] can wear in different ways or rework [their] clothing.”

What are your favorite trends right now? “I really like how people are layering their jewelry, like necklaces, or wear[ing] multiple pieces of jewelry at a time. It adds something unique to an outfit.”

Do you have any favorite fashion designers? If so, who? “Yes, Oscar De La Renta is my favorite because I love how feminine and strong his clothing is and how he makes a woman look.”

What do you do for fun – do you have any hobbies or interests? “I’m on the dance team at school.”

If you could raid anyone’s closet, who would it be and why? “Rihanna because she looks good in everything she wears and I think her style really separates her [from everyone else].”

Elements of Jackie’s Outfit

1. Moto Jacket

Fashion at Jefferson University: This black motorcycle jacket has is a knit material with faux leather sleeves and silver zippers. It is worn here with a white turtleneck and high-waisted denim jeans.

Jackie is a self-proclaimed moto jacket fanatic, and it’s no surprise why: This versatile piece can be dressed up or down for how she’s feeling on a given day. Today, Jackie chose to keep it classy with a white turtleneck.

2. High-Waisted Jeans

Fashion at Jefferson University: Jackie wears high-waisted, light-wash denim jeans with a white turtleneck tucked in. These jeans have distressed knees and are worn cuffed.

Jackie is not scared of rocking high-waisted jeans. She wears them beautifully, tucking her turtleneck shirt into them to show them off.

3. Black Booties

These black, chunky-heeled, rain boot style booties are a staple in Jackie's wardrobe.

There’s a reason why chunky-heeled black booties are so popular right now; they are extremely comfortable and go with every outfit. These go-to shoes are daily uniform material; what college girl wouldn’t want to wear them with everything?

Now we want to know what you think!
