No matter your style, there's a trench coat soulmate waiting out there for you!

Now that the weather is cooling down, I find myself reaching for a trusty trench coat almost every day.  Not only does it keep me warm, it also instantly elevates my "I forgot to set an alarm and woke up five minutes before class" outfit of jeans, a T-shirt, and sneakers so that it looks more like a "I totally planned this" kind of look.

While trench coats are traditionally khaki or beige with a hem at mid-thigh or at the knee, there are so many variations on this classic coat out there.  No matter your aesthetic, there's a kind of trench coat out there for you! Here are four different trench coat styles and how to wear them; see if one of them works for you!

Classic

Products: Coat, Top, Jeans, Flats, Bag

If you like to stick to the classics, you can't go wrong with a cropped trench coat. It feels a bit more casual than a longer coat but still looks perfectly polished. Pair it with a striped top, high-waisted jeans, and cute flats for an instantly put-together look.

Romantic

Products: Coat, Dress, Heels, Tote

For a more feminine feel, try out a ruffled trench coat in a pretty pastel shade. Pair it with a flirty fit-and-flare dress, then add chic accessories like a quilted tote bag and ankle-strap pumps.

Edgy

Products: Coat, Dress, Boots, Hat

For a moodier take on the trench, try a trench coat with faux leather details. Pair a simple gray dress with some statement-making accessories like buckled boots and a felt hat for an outfit that feels perfect for fall.

Casual

Products: CoatTop, Jeans, Shoes, Backpack

Finally, for a laid-back look that's perfect for the weekend, go with a draped trench coat that will look good even if it's a bit rumpled. Slip on your favorite boyfriend jeans and sneakers, then sling on your backpack. You're ready to go!
