Color combo pumpkin burgundy

If you ever find yourself stuck in a style rut, playing with fun new color combinations is a great way to liven up your wardrobe. In this series, we feature unique and unexpected color combinations, then give you stylish outfit ideas so you can try out these color combos yourself. For more color-centric outfit ideas, be sure to check out our previous posts in this series.

To us, October = all things pumpkin, so what better way to celebrate the season than by incorporating that distinct orange hue into this month’s Color Combo post? A bold shade like pumpkin needs to be balanced with something darker, which is why we chose to pair it with a deep, rich burgundy. The resulting combination is unexpectedly chic and absolutely perfect for autumn!

Need some outfit ideas before you rock this color combo? Simply scroll on down to check out four stylish outfits featuring burgundy and orange:

Outfit #1: Cool Colorblocking

For a casual yet trendy look that works on campus, pair burgundy skinny jeans with a bold pumpkin-colored sweater. Combat boots add a cool vibe, while this printed handbag is roomy enough to stash the day’s essentials. Complete the ensemble by accessorizing with a glam statement necklace.

We love the idea of layering a orange button-up underneath a burgundy sweater for a cozy yet colorful look. Black trousers are the perfect complement, while heeled oxfords continue the menswear-inspired vibe. Add a trendy touch by accessorizing with mixed metal jewelry, like this bird-adorned watch and spiky earrings.

YES! I was considering trying this combo the other day, but I was worried it would look too autumn costume-y. But seeing these outfits makes me think it will work just fine. Thank you!

I thought about putting my burgundy jeggings and beige blouse with a pumpkin cardigan together for my thanksgiving outfit. Although instead of black I went with brown shoes and a brown waist belt. I want a statement necklace and #1 has inspired me on what directions I can go… All these are great outfits!
