suave professionals dry shampoo (silver can with yellow cap) is AWESOME and super affordable. it helps give your roots volume, smells great, and dries up grease super fast! just rub it in a little and it leaves no color at all, even on my dark brunette hair. it doesn’t look like dandruff at all because it’s a super-fine powder spray. i won’t use anything else now!

hey everyone!

can you recommend a dry shampoo for a dark brunetter hair color? ive heard that it can look like dandruff for us brunettes, but i REALLY want to try it. any ideas?

Babypowder is always great but you have to try Not Your Mothers Fresh Dry Shampoo it’s the best I’ve tried so far and my least favorite is Psssst which when sprayed looked white and smelled bad! The Not Your Mothers Dry Shampoo smells fresh and has NO white residue which is great for my dark brown hair! It’s only 5.99 at walmart! Pretty wallet friendly!! By the way I’d like to try TIGI dry shampoo because TIGI products are awesome but pretty pricey, which is why I haven’t tried it. Good luck girls!

I really want to try some of these! Thanks for the helpful info. I was just wondering… I have red highlights and so I try to wait a couple of days before taking a shower because if you’ve ever had red dye in your hair, if not treated properly, in 1 month or less its faded. Will these dry shampoos kill the colour like taking a shower normally does?

You guys need to check out shampoo caps. They are awesome! Just slip them on your head, massage for a couple of minutes and your hair is shampooed, conditioned and towel dry! The ones I use are from a company called Synergy Health:

Dry shampoo is AWESOME. I used to go with baby powder but it didn’t last as long as I needed it to. My hairstylist got me some rockaholic by tigi and I love it but it is $18 at ULTA and does not last very long. I am definately going to try Batiste!! I

I have dark brown/black hair, so I use Cake powder, which is tinted brown, so very easy to blend. Absorbs oil and gives you a fresh clean scent.. like cake!! I live in Vancouver, Canada and I found it at The Bay. I believe they have different scents and shades to match you too!!

Great post, thanks! I have naturally curly hair. I have used a little sprinkle of corn starch, in a pinch. I have used it when my hair is pulled back – so I am able to brush it through my hair near the scalp. I don’t usually wear my hair down and curly unless I’m fresh out of the shower, as the curls get a little weighted down by the end of the day (or I give up and pull it back).

I read the comments on this page and I just recently bought Batiste, and it was amazing! I would definitely recommend it to anyone whose hair gets oily really fast :)
