Okay, don’t get me wrong – I love winter fashion. Layering cozy sweaters is so effortlessly cute and I’m loving all the wintry trends going around. Now that spring is coming, though, I’m finding myself being drawn to pastels, light fabrics and dreamy mini-dresses.

To curb my warm-weather cravings, I’ve rounded up some of the cutest spring trends that you can wear right this minute.

Sweater Vests

It looks like the prep school trend is sticking around for a little while and I for one am totally okay with it!

Spring’s version of prep school seems to be a little inspired by ’60s mod fashion.

When you’re shopping (or thrifting!) for your spring wardrobe, keep an eye out for short shift dresses, matching separates, and of course, sweater vests.

Layers

While this trend may seem hard to style at first, it’s refreshingly easy once you get the hang of it.

Sweater vests are perfect layering pieces and look chic over pretty much anything.

For a clean-cut look, layer a sweater vest over a button-down or basic tee. For a bold and trendy outfit, layer it over a shirt with statement sleeves (another major spring trend!).

It is still Valentine’s month, after all. From bra tops to corsets, lingerie is gearing up to be one of spring’s most popular street style trends.

I love the look of pairing a feminine piece like a knit bralette or corset top with a masculine piece, like distressed boyfriend jeans. For the winter months, layer a bra top over a thin sweater or t-shirt.

Knit separates are also super trendy right now, so another way to style this trend would be to pair a knit bralette with a matching cardigan. (I talk more about cardigans below!)

Open-Back Blouses

While this trend may not be perfect for super cold winter days, open back everything is definitely a spring trend that you’ll be seeing all over your Instagram feed in a few months.

This trend is unexpected and bold, which is what makes it so cool!

Like the lingerie-inspired trend, open back blouses look effortlessly chic paired with baggier denim (we love juxtaposition!). If you prefer an edgier look, pair an open-back blouse with a pair of leather trousers and some chunky boots.

Is anyone surprised? Cardigans have been trending for quite a while now, but every new season brings out new ways to wear them.

Wearing a light cardigan in lieu of a top will remain one of spring’s biggest casual wear trends, especially if you find a cardi in a cute pastel tone like lilac or mint green.

To mix up the look (and get two trends out of one), try wearing your cardigan backwards for a chic open-back look.

It’s worth noting that the backwards cardi trend is best when the cardigan has a slight v-neck, instead of buttoning all the way to the neck. This way, it won’t bunch up awkwardly!

Pastel Blue

Who says you have to wait until spring to bring out your pastels? I think light spring colors and winter weather are a perfect match.

I’ve been especially loving pastel blues lately, and I just know it’s going to be the color to watch for spring. I mean, classic blue is Pantone’s color of year, so it only makes sense.

This is a perfect winter-to-spring trend because blue is such a winter color! You’re still spicing it up by opting for a lighter blue than a dark, true blue.

Color trends are always the easiest to style because there are no rules! If you’re the kind of gal who prefers a neutral wardrobe, maybe opt for blue for your next mani-pedi, or pick up some pastel hair accessories – headbands and scrunchies are still so on-trend!

I want to hear from you! What do you think of this year’s spring trends?

Which spring trends are you most looking forward to? Will you be sporting any of these trends for the rest of the winter?

No doubt, weather conditions influence the kinds of cloths we wear. However, we can make the most of these wears, looking our very best, even on a friendly budget.

Once again, great job with this article and site at large!
