4 Styles of Skirts You Need This Summer

If you’re like me, you know you can never have too many skirts.

There are countless numbers of skirts out in the market right now. From mini skirts to maxi skirts, there is an endless supply. If you’re like me, you’re a huge fan of wearing skirts whenever you get the chance — they’re comfortable, breezy, and the perfect clothing choice for the summer season.

So below I’ve listed four different types of skirts to wear in the months ahead! If you don’t have one of each of these in your closet, I suggest you invest.

1. The Tie-Front Skirt

black floral crop top, mustard skirt, silver earrings, black patterned backpack, lace white sneakers

Products: Top – H&M, Bottoms – Pacsun, Earrings – Lulu’s, Backpack – ASOS, Shoes – Keds

I love the look of any piece that cinches in my waist, and this mustard belted skirt does just that!

This outfit is perfect for those humid days when the sun is shining brightly. The black top has floral detailing that matches with the lacy white sneakers. To keep the look from being too plain, add some dangly earrings and grab a patterned backpack to keep your hands free for the entire day!

2. The Business Casual Pencil Skirt

olive shirt, black pencil skirt, black watch, gold earrings, rose gold bracelet, black pumps

Products: Top – H&M, Bottoms – Express, Earrings – Lulu’s, Watch – H&M, Bracelet – Lulu’s, Shoes – Lulu’s

I know, the weather is hot, humid and everything in-between but that can’t stop us from looking decent at work.

A good quality pencil skirt can make or break the aura of your outfit, so it’s okay to splurge a little on essentials like these! (Note: The skirt pictured is on someone tall and therefore looks short — typically you want a business-casual skirt to hit at the knee, not above.)

Since you don’t want everything sticking on you, a flowy satin-like top tucked into your skirt is the way to go. As for accessories, a watch, some pretty earrings, and a bracelet complement the look nicely.

Now let’s talk shoes. As much as those four inch heels make your legs look amazing, we all know that a pair that’s 3 inches or less will have your feet thanking you at the end of the day!

3. The Button-Front A-Line Skirt

white off the shoulder top, mint button up skirt, gold hoop earrings, white patterned wristlet, brown sandals

Products: Top – H&M, Skirt – H&M, Earrings – Lulu’s, Wristlet – Nordstrom Rack, Shoes – JCPenney

This mint A-line skirt is perfect for wearing all summer and into the fall. A-line skirts are totally classic, and button-front styles like this one have been trending hard for the past few seasons.

Pair your skirt with a white off-the-shoulder top for a slight throwback feel. Or, if you want to liven it up, a pale pink top will work amazingly! I’m not usually one for hoop earrings but these ones pair wonderfully with off-the-shoulder tops. Slip on some neutral-toned sandals and a wristlet and you’re out the door!

4. The Maxi Skirt

silver necklace, pink floral maxi skirt, floppy hat, grey crop top, rose gold bracelet, beige heels

Products: Top – Urban Outfitters, Bottoms – Forever 21, Hat – Lulu’s, Necklace – Forever 21, Bracelet – Lulu’s, Shoes – Lulu’s

Maxi skirts, for me, provide a great excuse to wear heels — as my fellow petite ladies understand, anything that’ll make us look taller without anyone knowing is always a plus!

With the skirt being high-waisted, this ruffled grey crop top is a perfect pairing. If you’re heading out in the evening, add a necklace and a unique bracelet to finish the outfit. On the flip-side, if you’re wearing this to the beach on a casual day, swap your heels for some sandals and a floppy hat!

What do you think?
