As the holidays wind down, all I want to do is curl up with a book and a mug of tea in my coziest clothes. No more uncomfortable heels or party dresses, just comfy, causal pieces for a low-key winter. LOFT‘s monthly edit lookbook for December 2014 is just what I have in mind; it’s the perfect inspiration for how to dress casually while still looking polished and chic.
Everything in the lookbook comes from LOFT’s “Lou & Grey” line of comfortable, minimalist pieces, and while I love the pieces and looks in the collection, they tend to be a bit out of my budget. So, as an easier-on-the-wallet alternative, here are three outfits inspired by LOFT’s lookbook:
This outfit makes casual, everyday pieces look stylish and put-together. Start with a purple blouse over a gray tweed skirt, then slip on a pair of black socks with simple black booties. A quilted jacket is the perfect layer to add warmth and texture. Lastly, add a bit of sparkle with a layered silver charm necklace.
I love the mixing of textures in this look – the sleek, leathery jeans, chunky knit sweater, and silky blouse combine for an effortlessly chic outfit that could easily take you from lounging around the house to a casual dinner with friends.
Start with a pair of black coated jeans, then layer a teal blouse under a marled turtleneck sweater for a little peek of color. Black slip-on sneakers are a comfy yet trendy footwear choice. For the finishing touch, accessorize with simple jewelry, like a silver bangle and stud earrings.
Want a comfy and casual ensemble that’s still nice enough to wear while out and about? Look no further than this outfit. It’s hard to get more comfortable than a gray sweatshirt dress, which is warmed up with cozy fleece tights. Black moto boots and stackable silver rings add a bit of edge, while a natural pink lipstick and loose waves finish the look with some feminine polish.
