3 looks from the Erdem Spring Ready-to-Wear 2018 line.

I love keeping up with the latest runway lines, and CF does too. That’s why when I saw Erdem’s Spring 2018 Ready-to-Wear line, I was blown away and had to share it with y’all.

Erdem Moralioglu (pronounced er-dem moralee-oh-glue) is a Canadian-Turkish designer from Montreal, Canada. He launched his eponymous line, Erdem, in 2005, and won his first Fashion Forward Award in 2008.

His clothes have been worn by a myriad of different celebrities, including Emma Watson, Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightley, and more!

And, if Erdem isn’t cool enough for you yet, just know that Meghan Markle (Prince Harry’s beau) wore an Erdem dress whilst attending a wedding in Jamaica with the prince! Yeah, he’s pretty awesome.

Erdem’s Spring 2018 line stood out to me specifically because of its use of stunning floral prints, long, modest, silky dresses, a modern spin on more traditional looks, and a reformation of the skirt/pant suit. And, even though it is technically a spring line, the fabrics and textures screamed fall to me. Check out the whole collection here.

So, without further ado, I present to you 3 of Erdem’s iconic looks and how to replicate them.

Erdem Look 1: If It’s (Not) Baroque, Don’t Fix It

One look from Erdem's Spring 2018 Ready-to-Wear collection featuring a baroque-inspired strapless, gold and black dress.
Outfit inspired by Erdem's Spring 2018 Ready-to-Wear collection; focused on baroque printed top.

Products: Shirt – Pretty Little Thing, Skirt – Target, Belt – Nordstrom, Black Loafers – DSW, Red Loafers – 6pm, Earrings – Etsy, Headband – ASOS

This dress of Erdem’s is absolutely breathtaking. The structured, A-line skirt, the gold and black baroque print, the 3 red bows with pearl accents…wow. And, of course, the adorably chic printed loafers top it all off magnificently.

To replicate this beautiful look, I found a gold and black baroque printed blouse and paired it with a simple black maxi skirt. To mimic the red accents on the dress, I found a fun red bow belt to cinch the waist.

For shoes, I found some red suede loafers for a bit more color, or you could rock some black sparkly ones for some shine. The pearl accents of Erdem’s look manifested themselves in a cutesy pearl headband and gold pearl chandelier-like earrings.

This outfit is perfect for a fancy dinner or theatre showing, as it blends sophistication and trendiness.

Erdem Look 2: These Suits Were Made For Walking

Products: Blazer – Target, Shorts – ASOS, Blouse – Walmart, Flats – Charlotte Russe, Tights – Gap, Earrings – Belk, Brooch – Etsy

The era of the suit returns! Even though it hasn’t technically left, as figures such as Hillary Clinton rock it on the reg, this style is typically saved for businesswomen, school uniforms, and royals. This is why I was super excited to see suits in Erdem’s collection! Sophisticated and chic, a suit (whether pant, short, or skirt) can take you from class to meetings to a coffee date. Very versatile, I say.

To mimic the blazer seen above, I found this similar grey plaid blazer from Target. Slip this over a ruffly white blouse tucked into black high-waisted shorts. Since it’s getting a bit chillier outside, though, make sure you have some black tights to keep you warm. For your feet (and a bit of pizzazz), grab a pair of floral flats.

To accessorize, grab some super sparkly earrings and a brooch or pin to glam up the blazer! I love this detail in Erdem’s look because, just like suits, brooches have gone by the wayside in recent years. Erdem is definitely a pro at making traditional cool again.

Erdem Look 3: Talk to the Hand (And My Gloves)

Erdem Spring 2018 Ready-to-Wear look 3 including blouse with sparkly collar, white long gloves, and a floral, feathery skirt.

Products: Skirt – Charlotte Russe, Blouse – Amazon, Sandals – Nordstrom, Socks – Saks Fifth Avenue, Gloves – Etsy, Headband – Etsy, Earrings – Saks OFF 5th

There’s a lot going on in this look, and that’s precisely why I am obsessed with it. The bedazzled collared blouse, the feathery skirt, the white gloves…Ah! The combination is striking, feminine, and brings me to another age.

For my similar look, I found this sequined collared shirt that will fit nicely tucked into a floral skirt (sorry, I couldn’t find one with feathers!). Rather than going with the typical tights route, though, I mimicked the model and found some black, sheer knee-highs that you can bunch up and rock with some adorable blush embellished flatform sandals.

The accessories are the best part of this look, IMO. First and foremost, grab some cutesy white bauble earrings and a gorgeous headband (bridal accessories are coming in clutch here). Then, if you’re brave enough, slip on these dainty and sweet ivory gloves. The flower accent is so chic! Gloves can keep your hands warm and protected from weather’s harshness and they are the perfect accessory to make you look put together and classy.

This look would be perfect for a dinner date, a wedding, or a time when you just want to bend the rules and take on the town looking fab.

Erdem is pretty cool, no?

What do you think of his collection? Do you like these outfits? Will you give them a try? Start the convo below.
