Spring College Outfit #1: Romper

Products: Romper, Hat, Jacket, Sneakers

Spring is the perfect time to pull out your dresses and rompers, and this romper with a flattering V-waistline and stretchy knit fabric is an amazing option.

Made from 100% cotton, it will keep you cool on warm days, and its flowy silhouette makes it as comfy as it is cute. Plus, it’s a one-and-done, meaning you won’t have to stress over picking out a top and a bottom.

You can keep it casual by styling it with a cool trucker hat and a pair of sneakers like some Adidas Samba OG sneakers, or go for some flat sandals.

Throw on an oversized denim trucker jacket if it’s chilly out, and you’ll be all set.

Spring College Outfit #2: Denim Shorts

Denim shorts are a summertime staple, but in the springtime, they are just as great when worn with a few additional layers.

Show off your school spirit with a cute top that reps your University, paired with a knit bolero sweater over top. Shrugs and boleros are perfect for the springtime, since they will keep you from being chilly without making you overheat — they’re essentially half of a cardigan sweater and will provide just the right level of warmth for the springtime.

When worn with some high-rise denim cutoff shorts and casual sneakers, like a pair of New Balance 550 shoes, you’ll be good to go. Add in some large gold hoop earrings if you’re headed to a game day or tailgate for extra flair.

Spring College Outfit #3: Floral Print Dress

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. (IYKYK).

But even if floral print is not the most *groundbreaking* print for the season, it is a classic… and just looks so cute. There’s nothing wrong with celebrating the beauty of the season with your clothing!

You can, however, give a feminine floral print mini dress a fresh update for 2024 by pairing it with some cool, colorful sneakers like the Adidas Gazelle sneakers in a bright color scheme — this red pair happens to match this mini dress perfectly for a color-coordinated look.

Add to the laid-back vibe with a baseball hat and a graphic print canvas tote bag, like this adorable Dairy Boy Farmers Market bag featuring a vintage-inspired strawberry print.

Some slim oval tortoise sunnies and a dainty gold pendant necklace are easy to throw on and will make you look that much more put-together and on-trend.

Spring College Outfit #4: Jeans & A Cardigan

Products: Cardigan, Jeans, Hat, Clogs

You can never go wrong with jeans and a lightweight sweater or cardigan, especially in neutral shades, during the springtime.

This classic outfit combination is easy to throw on but will have you looking super put-together, especially for class.

Opt for a knit with a lightweight material, like this textured beige single-button cardigan sweater, which you can wear over a basic white tank or t-shirt.

Wear it with some low-rise wide-leg jeans and either sneakers or clogs, which are easy to slip on when you’re rushing to class, and will keep you comfy throughout the day.

Spring College Outfit #5: Denim Overalls

How adorable are these denim short overalls?

They are such a fun alternative to jean shorts and will look so cute during the spring and summer seasons.

Try wearing the overalls with a neutral or earth-colored tank top or t-shirt and some comfy footbed sandals, which are ideal for trekking back and forth across campus.

This olive green square-neck ribbed tank matches these olive green buckled footbed sandals to a tee, and because of their subdued hue, you’ll be able to wear them with plenty of other items in your wardrobe, too.

Don’t forget your backpack (this Herschel backpack will match all of your outfits) and some oval metal sunglasses if it’s a sunny day outside.

Spring College Outfit #6: Denim Mini Skirt

Another cute way to wear denim this spring? A denim mini skirt.

This mid-rise denim mini skirt with a frayed hem pairs with almost anything, from basic t-shirts to girly tops like this adorable floral-print top with frill lace detailing.

You can go the casual route with sneakers, or go for a more feminine vibe with some sandals. These woven slide sandals have a memory foam insole to keep you extra comfy, and their raffia design gives them a summery look.

Bring the ensemble together with a hair claw clip and some dainty gold jewelry, like this sweet hibiscus pendant necklace.

Spring College Outfit #7: Athleisure

Products: Pants, Sweatshirt, Bag, Sneakers

Some days (or, in my case, most days), you just want to be comfy. That’s where athleisure outfits come in, especially if you’re going to be studying for hours or planning to hit the gym after class.

Whether you’re going to be active or just lounging around, you can’t go wrong with wearing sneakers, stretchy pants, and a sweatshirt.

But rather than wear basic black leggings, try some flared or wide-leg pants instead this spring. This style feels fresh, especially in a non-black color like light gray and with a fold-over waistband.

These will look great paired with a hoodie or sweatshirt, which can be basic or feature a design that represents your college. For example, this graphic print college sweatshirt features a light camo pattern with an off-the-shoulder design and super soft fleece.

Sneakers are the obvious footwear choice when it comes to athleisure, and this pair of Nike V5 RNR sneakers can be worn casually or to work out, making them a good investment.

If you’re looking for a bag that you can take from class to the gym, this quilted carryall bag is a great option with a roomy design and the ability to wear it crossbody or on your shoulder.

Spring College Outfit #8: Casual Shorts

Products: Shorts, T-Shirt, Hat, Socks, Sneakers

Keep things casual (yet cute) with some striped drawstring shorts. These are ultra comfortable thanks to their elasticated waist and easy, lightweight fabric.

Since the shorts are printed, you can wear a basic top, like a light gray crew-neck t-shirt with a cotton blend.

Give the outfit a sporty vibe by wearing sneakers — these New Balance 530 sneakers go with so many different kinds of outfits, making them a prime option — and some white crew socks.

Pro tip: Dad hats are a great way to cover up a bad hair day or disguise hair that may be past due on a washing (we’ve all been there).

Spring College Outfit #9: Baggy Pants

Though this everyday look is laid-back, it’s as cool as it gets. The key here is choosing basic items with some unexpected flair.

Rather than basic jeans, try these low-rise baggy pants in a rustic green hue. They’ll give you a fresh look while still being neutral and easy to pair with the rest of your wardrobe.

Similarly, this baby blue crew-neck t-shirt seems basic until you notice its eye-catching leopard print trim. It’s a small detail that creates major impact.

Add in trendy accessories like some oval blue light glasses (which will also help protect your eyes from your laptop screen when doing homework) and some chunky silver earrings.

These New Balance 9060 sneakers match the color scheme of the outfit perfectly, but of course, pretty much any sneakers will work with this casual yet cool outfit.

Spring College Outfit #10: Button-Down Shirt

Everyone needs a button-down shirt in their closet in either white or a striped pattern — this is such a classic item that never goes out of style, and can be worn a million different ways!

You can even make this timeless piece look trendy by styling your striped button-down with some barrel leg jeans, which are a major trend this season.

With a mid rise and a relaxed fit that tapers at the ankle, these jeans feature the hottest denim silhouette for spring.

Since the shirt has an oversized fit, you can wear it as a lightweight layer over a simple white ribbed tank top and add interest with a rainbow stone beaded necklace (I love this necklace’s blue ombre color scheme).

Sandals, sneakers, and loafers would all work with this ensemble, but for an extra trendy vibe, try some boat shoes. These are another big trend this season, and will add to the outfit’s fashion-forward feel.

Here are 10 more spring looks to wear this season that won’t break the bank at under $100.

Denim Jorts and a Tank Top

An unexpected trend this spring that is surprisingly versatile? Jorts!

Denim jorts are basically long jean shorts that have a looser fit and hit just above the knee. Because of their longer length, you’ll feel more comfortable wearing them to class (and everywhere else). I love this pair’s drawstring waist detail, which is another trend we are seeing in denim this season.

Jorts can be dressed up or down depending on the top and shoes you choose. A simple, sleek black tank top and flat sandals (plus cute sunglasses) will give them a chic, laid-back look.

Wide-Leg Jeans & A Tank Top

It should come as no surprise that a classic white tank top is a closet staple, and while this piece is plain, that is what makes it so versatile!

This spring, try styling yours with some wide-leg jeans in a neutral color like beige, along with some trendy sneakers and a casual baseball hat.

You can also layer your tank under a lightweight sweater, since layers are such a must during the spring. When you get hot, simply tie it over your shoulders like the model has, above — it looks so cool styled like this.

Athletic Shorts & A Zip-Up Hoodie

When it gets too warm to wear sweatpants or leggings, athletic shorts are the way to go, especially when worn with a matching zip-up hoodie.

You’ll be comfortable while staying cool in these fleece shorts and coordinating hoodie that are soft, cozy, and basic enough to wear for years to come.

While you can wear these pieces separately (and can ditch the hoodie if it’s too hot outside), wearing them together as a set will make you look extra put-together, even though you’re just wearing athleisure clothing! Just add sneakers and a dad cap.

Tank Bodysuit & Barrel Leg Jeans

A basic bodysuit will go a long way in your college wardrobe. This navy blue ribbed tank bodysuit is basic, but can be styled in so many different ways, whether you want to dress it up or keep it casual.

For a relaxed, everyday look, wear it with some jeans — bonus points if they’re barrel leg jeans, which are this season’s hottest denim style. I also love the idea of opting for jeans in a light wash (like the pair above), as this gives the outfit a more springtime-ready look.

Other ways to wear a tank bodysuit? With regular jeans, shorts, mini skirts, trousers, and even jogger pants. As I said, it’s an ultra-versatile piece!

A Tube Top & A Midi or Maxi Skirt

You’ll look absolutely adorable in a flowy midi or maxi skirt paired with a tube top this spring, and this tube top happens to feature the season’s hottest color, butter yellow.

Tube tops have such a ’90s vibe, and this one features a feminine feel thanks to its sweet lace trim and bow detail.

When temperatures rise, an outfit like this will help to keep you cool (no straps = less fabric weighing you down).

Denim Shorts & A Cardigan

One of my favorite springtime pairings is denim shorts with a cute cardigan and a t-shirt or tank top. This combo couldn’t be better for spring weather, when it’s chilly in the morning and gets warmer throughout the day.

Ditch the cardigan later on if it gets hot outside — the key to springtime dressing is definitely layers!

Cardigans have such a classic, stylish feel, helping to make this basic outfit look more put-together.

Rain Boots & A Flowy Dress or Romper

While springtime can mean beautiful sunny days, it can also mean plenty of rain. And there’s nothing more challenging than dressing for warm (or hot) rainy days, but this outfit combination will do just the trick.

Wear rain boots with a flowy dress or romper, layering a chunky cardigan or trench coat over top. This flowy white romper looks like a dress with its pleating and ruching throughout, but features shorts, making it that much more practical.

Mini Skort & Denim Jacket

A skort will give you the best of both worlds since it looks like a skirt but features shorts underneath.

This light and gauzy skort made from a linen blend material features patch pockets and a neutral hue that pairs with pretty much everything.

Denim jackets are a great outerwear option for the spring season, and will look adorable with this skort.

Denim Shorts & A Button-Down Shirt

As I mentioned before, basic button-down shirts are wardrobe essentials that never go out of style. They also make for the best lightweight layer to wear during the springtime!

Throw on a white oversized button-down shirt with a tank or bodysuit and some denim shorts for a cute, effortless spring look.

Dress & Loafers

When all else fails, wear a dress! Dresses require little styling effort compared to outfits involving a top and a bottom.

If floral prints aren’t your thing, try a print like polka dots instead; this polka dot mini dress can be worn day or night and has a classic feel.

While it would also look fantastic with sneakers, heels, or sandals, try wearing it with some chunky black loafers for a more elevated springtime look.
