Hautelinks - your weekly source for the best of the web

Happy Thursday! Gear up for the weekend and distract yourself from that paper with this week's massive list of links. Hope you have more than a few minutes to spare - this list is a little longer than usual!

The annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show aired a few days ago, and if you haven't seen it, it's a must-watch, if only for the extra boost of motivation to hit the gym! Watch the entire show for free here.

*

On that same note, Elle Magazine interviewed the models about how they get in shape for the VS runway. The best part is that the models were pretty honest about how much hard work it takes to look that good! Thankfully, for once no one claimed to have a "naturally fast metabolism".

*

The "Colour-In" Dress is just too cool for words, although I don't think I'd have the patience for it!

*

Wondering when your favorite holiday movie will be on TV? This amazing website will tell you! (Now I know when to watch my personal fave, Jingle All The Way. Don't hate.)

*

Paste Magazine's "Evolution of the Hipster" is so funny and spot-on. I recognized many people I've known over the years in it! My fave is the 2009 girl:

2009 - The Meta-Nerd: By wearing the popular "Three Wolf Moon" t-shirt, today's hipster makes a mockery of herself. She has finally completed her full-sleeve tattoo.

And if you don't know what "Three Wolf Moon" is, please Google it for some laughs.

You'll never guess who Karl Lagerfeld's latest "muse" is... No, really, you will not guess this. It defies logic.

*

Our friends at CollegeCandy have some great ideas on how to live like a rock star on a groupie's budget.

*

The Boston Globe has tips on how to nap in order to get the maximum benefits.

*

Slow Cow, which is basically the anti Red Bull, might come in handy for winding down from final exam stress!

*

We all know gift cards aren't the most wished-for holiday gifts, but if we had to receive a gift card for Xmas, you can bet it would be this one.

*

We can't make this stuff up: Stella McCartney and Morrissey to Launch Men's Vegan Shoe Collection.

*

Possibly the cutest kitten video ever. No further explanation needed.

*

The New York Times just introduced Times Skimmer, a really smart and cool way to read the newspaper when you're pressed for time.

*

WhoWhatWear has been doing an amazing set of posts on holiday gift ideas. They can do no wrong in our book!

*

We love how Kate Hudson effortlessly rocks over-the-knee boots.

*

7 Ways to Look Cozy-Chic (Not Dumpy!) is a rad feature from InStyle magazine.

*

I don't know about you, but a Dior Couture Xmas tree sounds like my kind of holiday decorating!

*

H&M, in an effort to avoid being outdone by the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, staged their own fashion show for the Sonia Rykiel for H&M lingerie. You can read all about the lingerie fashion show battle here. Sadly for H&M, since VS had Chanel Iman walking for them, there was really no competition to begin with.

My Milk Toof is totally un-fashion-related but completely adorable.

The Art of the Unfriend is a really interesting podcast talking about how Facebook changes the way we communicate and how this changes the rules of social behavior:

Hutchinson believes that, we as social creatures, should take some cues from other forms of communication. You wouldn’t text, call, or knock on someone’s door several times a day to tell them how much you enjoyed what they were reading, doing, or saying, so why comment or “like”, everything they post on their Facebook wall. Right? How does one create social boundaries on their networks and how do we not take it so, er, personally when someone does not befriend us?

*

Haute Macabre featured some recent scans from Vogue Russia featuring Anastasija Kondratjeva that are total eye-candy. Why are non-US editions of Vogue always SO much better?

*

On the subject of fashion mags, if you're not sure which glossies are worth shelling out for this month, check out Refinery 29's list of December's five best fashion mags.

*

In case you haven't seen this before, you MUST watch this amazing video of Paris in the '70's - taken from the front of a car driven by a Formula 1 racer at breakneck speed!

*

I LOL'ed at Don't Tag me in this Photo. Why did I not think of this?!

If you want to write for College Fashion in the spring, there's still time to apply! I'll be accepting applications until the 16th, so apply ASAP. Details are here!

Whew! That's it for this week. Post any other must-see links of the week in the comments section and we'll see you tomorrow!
