About Marisa

Hey ladies! My name is Marisa and I'm pumped to be writing for College Fashion, especially because it gives me an excuse to paint my nails on a regular basis without feeling like I'm procrastinating! (But I probably am.) I'm a junior at NYU majoring in Environmental Studies and German. And yeah, speaking German is totally a great party trick. One of my biggest vices is using parentheses way too often. Also abbrev'ing everything.

In my spare time I like sleeping, eating chocolate and potato chips (both together and separate), and watching Dawson's Creek or Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If I'm trying to sound like a real person then I say my hobbies include writing, reading books, and playing guitar (all of which I also do). Originally I'm from Boston where my family and cats live. I love Boston sports teams so please never say anything bad about them because I just want to be friends, guys. Follow me on Twitter at @MarisaBulk for LOL, which, according to my dad, means 'lots of laughs.' I'm really funny. Promise.

Halloween nail art: Candy corn and jack-o-lantern

Photo Credit So every time a holiday rolls around, I always tell everyone it’s my favorite one. That said, this may actually be the case for October 31st, also known as All Hallow’s Eve or, you know, Halloween. Obviously, I would never pass up an opportunity to sport a festive manicure, so I knew that […]

Nail Art How-to: Inspired by Autumn Foliage

Photo Credit I’m (illogically) a vehement denier of summer’s end well into September, but by the 21st, even I have to concede: it’s officially autumn. However, the end of the best season doesn’t mean that the following one should be dreaded! In fact, there are tons of great things about autumn, like falling leaves, apple […]
