Life on the outer rim of space is hard. As former Tatooine resident Luke Skywalker once said, it’s the farthest planet from the bright center of the universe. The landscape is hot, sandy, and unforgiving, and the locals are a rough bunch.
It doesn’t have to all bad, though! The desert planet has a lot to offer, including a unique farming economy and high-stakes sports entertainment. If you decide to make Tatooine your new home in a galaxy far, far away, you’ll have to change your wardrobe accordingly.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Tatooine is a somewhat lawless planet. It has very little senate or imperial involvement because of its remote location. The ideal resident values privacy and can fend for themselves.
- Much of the day-to-day goings on are controlled by the crime lord Jabba the Hutt. It’s also the original home of Luke and Anakin Skywalker, and both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Han Solo have spent considerable time there.
- When it comes to life on Tatooine, every decision you make has to be about beating the heat. Tatooine has two suns and no shade, so sunburns and heatstroke are no laughing matter. Light fabrics, big hats and open toes are the way to go!

Moisture Farming
To stay alive, you’ll need to find a way to make money fast. Try moisture farming, an easy source of income due to the planet’s dry climate. A farm can be run by just a handful of people, so it’s the perfect choice for a new business.

The area also happens to boast some of the only decent nightlife on Tatooine, so you’ll have to take what you can get. The cantinas and bars may be dangerous, but they’re also lively and eventful!

That’s because the planet has a state-of-the-art arena for podracing, a popular, dangerous, and potentially lucrative sport. Think NASCAR, but with a lot more violence and hover cars.
