High waisted bikinis at Anthropologie, Free People and Modcloth.
Since I’m daydreaming of summer, I can’t help but peruse my favorite internet sites for swimwear whenever I get a break. While browsing recently, I noticed an interesting trend in the world of swimsuits. We all know that retro swimsuits have been popular for a while, but now high waisted bikinis seem to be everywhere.
The high waisted swimwear trend is a nice way to cover up a little bit while still being girly. When you pair one of these suits with feminine accessories, it’s hard not to feel glamorous. Since I haven’t found my perfect swimsuit yet, this style may definitely be a contender!
Here are the perfect accessories to dress it up:

What are your thoughts?
Do you think you would wear a high waisted bikini? Is this a cute look or just not your style? Could you see yourself actually swimming in this or is it more of a lazing-on-the-beach look? Leave a comment and let me know!
AHHH YES! I am still on the lookout for the perfect high waisted swimsuit, but that’s all I want to be wearing on the beach this summer.
I love vintage styles but I find high waisted swimsuits a little too costume-y.
Heck no, my body rocks, why cover up my abs
noooooooo way
I think that this would leave awkward tan lines, but I definitely think that some people could pull this off .
I’m glad you guys are back to posting outfits! CF has been way tl;dr lately. I just wanna see the pretty coordinates and get inspired!
yes! thank God they’re in!
I love this look, very cute and retro, but I don’t think it’s for me. I don’t think it would flatter my figure. I love how they look on the models though.
I would try it if I were in better shape. Unfortunately, I certainly do not have a bikini body, so I’ll be sticking to styles that cover my stomach. I think they look fabulous, though!
The ONLY concern I would have with this (much like my concern with other elaborate bathing suits) is super awful tan lines. Is there any way around that? because I LOVE the idea of it!
also, if it fits properly, it should not look like a diaper
I actually own one! I think the style is really cute and I get dazzled with complements everywhere I go. If you have long legs, it’ll make them look longer, if you have a narrow waist it doesn’t hurt either, but the swimsuit really adds one. It’s super flattering and you dont need to be in the best shape of your life with ab muscles to look good in it. Oddly enogh it does NOT leave weird tan lines. Besides that you just look classy, maybe the chic in the gold string bikini looks hot, but you look more pin-up and less playboy. Leaving something (anything) to the imagination is your greatest tool.
Some people think its only good for curvy girls but i have a ruler-like figure and my high waisted swimsuit adds curves, plus it makes my legs look longer.
I have one and love it. However, like most garments, it’s better for some body types than others – in this case, I think hourglass figures pull off this style best. Pear-shaped and short-waisted gals, it probably won’t do you many favors.
That being said, I think it looks best when the bottoms aren’t TOO high. Right below the navel is just the perfect mix of demure and sexy (the boyfriend agrees!!!), while still looking cute and covering potential problem areas. Otherwise, unless you’re model-esque, the bottoms hitting above the navel very well may have that granny panty effect and accentuate the hips. Most importantly, confidence is key!
I have one from American Apparel in navy blue, and I love it! It’s very minimalistic and chic.
