If you want to buy a new pair of shoes this season, you should know that mules are the hottest footwear trend for spring.

Not sure what those are? Let's start by defining a clog as opposed to a mule. Clogs tend to have chunkier bottoms and are often made of wood. Mules are a slide-on type of shoe without an ankle strap. They can be flats, of course, but chunky-heeled mules are the craze of the moment, and they are everywhere right now.

You may be pondering how to wear a mule off the runway, or even how to keep it on your foot. "Excuses, excuses," the fashion elite say. To make this look work with your college wardrobe, we recommend opting for a pair of boyfriend jeans, a fitted jacket, and a wispy feminine tank. We would pair the mules with trendy accessories, like a snakeskin cuff and a bucket bag.
