Monthly Favorites and Wishlist: December 2016

Join me for my last favorites and wishlist of 2016!

Hey, everyone! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving break and finished the end of your semester strong!

Okay, so I am usually so excited to write my CF articles, but as I write this one, I’m getting a little gloomy! It’s my last one – booooooo! It’s crazy how fast the semester went by. What’s even more scary is that each semester goes by faster than the last. Sometimes I just want the time to slow down a little bit.

So, as we say goodbye to 2016, here are my favorites for the last month of the year, plus my wants for the first month of 2017.

Favorites

1. Green Hunter Boots

So I got these little babies as an early Christmas present (only because they were on sale during Thanksgiving) and I’m in looooove! I chose green because I wanted a non-neutral color that stood out, but also matched with my clothes.

I wear these shoes almost every day. I wear them out on errands, to class, and even out to eat with my friends. They are insanely comfortable, too. I know they are technically rain boots, but I wear them in the snow, and even sometimes when it is sunny outside. This just shows how versatile these boots are. For me, these are really worth the price.

2. Book: Honey and Milk by Rupi Kaur

Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur book cover

I went on a little book spree this past week and spent over $60 on books… (Oops.) I guess I’ll call this a Christmas present to myself?

Anyway, I love to write and read anything non-fiction or prose-related. Interestingly enough, I originally saw Kaur’s work on Instagram, and liked it so much that I went to purchase her book. This book is about her experiences with violence, abuse, love, and femininity.

Although the book is a fast read, it’s so worth your while. Check out some of her work on Insta and if you like it, go give her book a try!

3. Starbucks Drink: Holiday Spice Flat White

So I usually don’t write about food and beverages here, but ever since I started drinking this at Starbucks, I have had a hard time ordering anything else!

The Holiday Spice Flat White consists of espresso, whole milk, and a spice blend. I like this especially because I am always on the look out for new drinks at Starbucks, but so many of them have really high calorie counts and/or are way too sweet. I love this because it is moderate on both sides, and has a nice holiday taste to it!

Wishlist

1. Laura Mercier: Translucent Loose Setting Powder

Laura Mercier Translucent loose powder

So I tried this product belonging to my makeup-savvy best friend (it’s pretty much how I find out about all beauty products) and now I want it!

In case you aren’t familiar, this is a clear setting powder that you apply after all your makeup is done. It keeps your makeup in place and smooths out any lines that are left over from streaky brushes! It’s a great end to a make up routine and keeps your makeup looking fresh for hours.

2. Faux Fur Vest

Faux fur vest

Now you all know I like quirky wardrobe pieces and this is one that I’m surprised I don’t own yet! I want a faux fur vest (like this H&M one) because it is warm, great for layering, and chic. It’s the perfect piece for winter.

3. A Great Rest of the Year

So… I realize this isn’t the typical item to go on the list, but why not? I didn’t want to end my last post with something materialistic.

This is something I genuinely, truly wish for myself and for all of you! Enjoy your friends, family, the time off, and the amazing food. I hope you all have a great start to the new year as well!
