It was announced last week that Jen Atkin, hairstylist of the Kardashian and Jenner sisters and founder of Maneaddicts.com, will be launching her own hair care line in 2016.
According to WWD, the line, called Ouai, will "roll out to Sephora in March 2016, and there will also be a subscription component available to the customers on ouaihaircare.com." The line will include 21 products, including everything from dry shampoo and hairspray to biotin supplements to promote hair health.
Atkin plans to advertise the line using social media (she has 1 million Insta followers), and the line's website will include video tutorials of models doing their own hair using Ouai. Said Atkin of her strategy,
“I think a lot of brands market unrealistic goals for women, [like] showing a woman [in advertisements] with lots of wigs and extensions….It’s not realistic. There’s a movement that’s happening right now. Brands are struggling to connect with consumers because there’s a lack of authenticity. I’m making women feel like they can do this on their own.”
