Cosmetics company MAC is known for collaborating with unexpected muses, so it’s no surprise that they teamed up with 90-year-old style icon Iris Apfel for their upcoming makeup collection.

I love that flamingo lipstick! It’s such a pretty coral-y pink. That Robin’s Egg eyeshadow is so gorgeous! I think this collection is going to be great. MAC finds inspiration for its makeup from so many different people, even a 90year old women. I wish MAC would have a makeup collection inspired by me!
My thoughts? It’s funny how everytime a ‘fashion icon’ collaborates with any makeup brand it’s almost always the same type of products our mothers have been buying in their teens.
Bottom line: Use same product, just add a posh name to it and VOILA! marketing success.
I’m not a lipstick kind of gal, but with all those bright pinks and corals, I may have to give it a whirl. Also love the nail polish!
I don’t think the collection is extraordinary but I don’t support anything Iris Apfel does sice she tried to sell a knock-off of a Hanna Bernhard toucan pin in a jewelry line and tried to pass it as her own design. http://www.atlantishome.com/3670/iris-apfel-really-2/
I think the colors look amazing 🙂 I will definitely be trying some of these products because I love bright colors…thanks for the heads up about this collaboration
I love the colors even though I could never pull them off. I agree with Julie though; after the HSN knock-off issue, I’m kind of wary of Iris Apfel…it’s just impossible that she didn’t know about the Hanna Bernhard in the first place. But as for this collection, I do like it – reminds me a bit of the Barbie collection but you can only get so creative with makeup, haha.
Oh the colors are gorgeous! I cannot wait to see it in person!
I hope I look like that @ 90 hey!
The powder is gorgeous!
I had never heard of Iris before today but I love the idea for this collection! MAC always seems to find inspiration in the most unexpected places, don’t they?
I think it’s silly that people spend this much money on makeup. Sure, MAC’s stuff may be good but you can make most makeup work just as well. None of those products is actually worth $14, so no, I will not be buying them.
That add is simply stunning! I am also glad that they are showcasing an older model. So often we think that beauty fades as we age and the elderly are frequently treated as inferior second class citizens. I’m so glad MAC is celebrating the beauty and uniqueness of a truly older woman. That nude nail polish looks like the perfect mannequin hand shade for me.
