Every other week, I break down the best of TV fashion, featuring my favorite looks from the last two weeks. This week, I was inspired by amazing black-and-white outfits from Suits and Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Read on to see both looks:
1. Suits (Season 4, Episode 7): Katrina's White Vest

I just rediscovered Suits, the comedy drama about a lawyer named Mike who has a sharp wit, great hair, and no law degree. I've talked about this show before (see here for another recap), but I've started tuning in again (get it?), and I'm really enjoying it.
I'm super behind, so I can't say much about the show, other than this: if attractive men in suits are your kryptonite, then you'll love Suits. I'm also a huge fan of the fashion in general - the outfits are all classic, sexy, and sophisticated.
I couldn't actually see Katrina's full outfit, but when I saw the classy white vest, I was really inspired to create a edgy twist on a business-like outfit (I'm obsessed with badass takes on traditional black-and-white clothing, which you'll see in the next look, too). White vests are so versatile and classy, but pairing one with faux leather pants creates an interesting contrast.
You can play up the contrast even more with a pair of strappy heels and a patent leather crossbody bag. Keep your jewelry very simple and sophisticated; all you really need is an oversized boyfriend watch and some fancy pearl earrings. For the final touch, add a long pendant necklace to emphasize the vest's low neckline.
2. Keeping Up With The Kardashians (Season 9, Episode 15): Kendall's Striped Top and Black Lipstick

To be quite honest, I know almost nothing about the Kardashians or their reality show, the aptly named Keeping Up with the Kardashians. However, I've gathered from magazines in the grocery checkout lane that there's a lot of "Drama! Heartbreak! Cat Fights!" and luxury in their lives, but that's about it. I can't handle drama unless dragons, crime, or the apocalypse is involved, so reality TV isn't my thing - I find all the yelling to be too stressful!
Everyone either loves or hates the Kardashians, but I'm one of about six people on earth, outside of Switzerland, who are totally neutral (see what I did there?) - and I plan on staying that way. I am totally on Team Kendall's Wardrobe though - when my roommate showed me this outfit, I fell in love with it.
Kendall's outfit is a perfect and unique blend of preppy and edgy pieces. To recreate it, start with a classic black-and-white striped crop top. Slip on a cute white circle skirt or a pair of loose white shorts, then grab black gladiator sandals to add a little sass to the ensemble. Accessorize with a gold cuff and a small pendant necklace for a little extra edge.
To really amp (and vamp) up the outfit, rock a dark, moody lip color and a coat of bright red nail polish. They add an unexpectedly cool twist to an otherwise classic outfit. I absolutely love the look of super-dark lipstick, but unfortunately, I can't pull it off, so I'm going to have to live vicariously through you!
