I’m not going to lie to you guys; when I first stepped into the fashion world, I thought Hermès only dealt with accessories. Now that I’m older and (a bit) wiser, I can say that Christophe Lemaire’s final womenswear collection for Hermès became one of my faves for the season.
Hermès Spring 2015 RTW collection was generally flowy with just the tiniest bit of structure, and perfect enough for work and play. The color palette played to my own tastes: neutral with just a dash of color in deep reds, dark blues, and warm mustard yellows. From dresses and skirts to pants and cardigans, it was a perfectly balanced and spring-ready collection any fashionista would love to have in her closet!
However, as college students, we can’t always drop money on designer clothes. If you love Hermès’ new spring collection, keep reading for three budget-friendly outfits inspired by looks straight from the runway:
1. Perfect in Plaid
Plaid has been everywhere this season, so it’s always great to see different fashion houses’ takes on this ’90s revival. Hermès chose to juxtapose a grungy pattern with a flowy, feminine dress. The belt gives it a bit of shape, and this look can easily transition from day to night.
Get the Look:
Channel your inner French fashionista by choosing a dark-colored, slightly transparent plaid dress, then belting it to create structure. Accessorize with edgy silver jewelry and slip-on ankle-strap heels. Finish the look with strong brows, just like the model’s.
This getup gives me some serious safari-ready vibes— but definitely in an elevated, chic manner. The light fabrics and casualness make this outfit ideal for both warm weather and a school day.
Get the Look:
Tuck a neutral button-down into a pair of fab yellow shorts. Choose strappy, flat black sandals, then accessorize with stud earrings and a chunky bangle. Finally, swipe some pink blush on your cheeks to add a bit more warmth to your look.
3. Flawless Neutrals
This feminine and fashion-forward ensemble is my absolute favorite from Hermès’ Spring 2015 collection. The pink, beige, and white tones are warm, fresh, and perfect for spring, while the looseness of the outfit gives it a casual vibe.
Get the Look:
Recreate the designer outfit by pairing a pale pink blouse with a white pleated skirt. Slip on an airy, floor-length coat in a hue similar to the blouse. Pick neutral-colored ankle-strap sandals and accessorize with drop earrings. Use a few bobby pins to pin back your hair like the model, then finish the look by applying a highlighter on your gorgeous skin.
