As a personal choice, the color range in my closet is not very broad (read: I really like my neutrals). However, as soon as I saw Céline’s Spring 2014 collection, I was in love.
From graphic colors and brushstroke-inspired prints to loose yet feminine silhouettes and the incorporation of fabulous accessories, Phoebe Philo's exciting, urban-tinged Spring collection is sure to turn heads (even on a busy city street!).
Are you coveting Céline’s edgy and fun collection, but not so happy about the price tag that comes along with it? Keep scrolling for three lower-priced outfits inspired by Céline’s Spring 2014 RTW:
1. Electric Blue
This outfit, with its quirky-fun pleats, bright color scheme (right down to the bangles!), and lace-up sandals would be ideal for a warm spring afternoon. The mix of colors looks on-trend, while the black accents add a cool contrast.

Recreate this bold ensemble with a pleated dress. Since it has a halter neck and similar blue hue, this Mango version is a budget-friendly dupe for the original designer frock. Add some additional pops of color with several neon bracelets, then go trendy by accessorizing with a lucite cuff. Strap on a pair of gladiator sandals, which ground the outfit and tone down all of the bright colors. Lastly, mimic the runway models' bold eyebrows by defining yours with an eyebrow pencil and gel.
2. Print on Top
Pairing a black skirt with a crisp blouse is always a classic combination. Céline’s interpretation of this look is fierce and urban, thanks to the oversized graphic print top as well as the statement-making leather midi skirt. (Also, check out that peek of white on the underside... so fab!)

A mid-length skirt can be a bit intimidating for some (I will be the first to admit this), so to recreate this look, I went with a faux leather skater skirt, which creates a similar flowy but edgy effect. Pair this skirt with a colorful top that has a brushstroke-inspired print (this one also features on-trend contrast panels on the shoulder) and a pair of black booties. Use a smoothing product and a hair donut to recreate the model’s bun, then stack on those bracelets to complete the look.
3. Classic Neutrals
This look is my favorite out of the collection. Though almost an entirely neutral outfit - with the exception of that splash of yellow on the sweater’s sleeve - it stands out because it displays the collection’s reoccurring silhouette to a "T": It's flowing and oversized, but still fun and flirty. Plus, the tulle peeking out from under the sweater is such a chic detail!

To get an outfit inspired by the above look, start off with a white or cream-colored tulle skirt, and then pair it with a cropped sweater. This will give you more of a spring-y feel, but will also keep you warm if it happens to be a bit chilly outside. Don’t worry if the sweater and skirt aren’t exactly the same shade of white or cream - it maintains the quirky vibe found throughout this collection. Grab a white bag and some brown slingback booties. Add a dash of color with bright geometric earrings, then stack on some silver rings.
