BCBG Max Azria Resort 2014 | ELLE
The last time I wrote about this particular fashion house, I mentioned how Azria’s spring collection was the one that made me a solid fan. So when I came across the photos for BCBG Max Azria Resort 2014, I had incredibly high hopes… and I was not disappointed.
While not particularly colorful, with the exception of some bright and super delicate embroidery, this resort collection features jumpsuits, rompers, pants, and dresses, so it’s safe to say there’s a little something for every fashion fan. Bonus: the fact that all of the fab outfits are created from light and billowy fabrics means they’re perfect for music festival season.
Are you jumping for joy over BCBG’s resort collection but not so much over the price tag? Keep reading for three bank account-friendly outfits inspired by looks straight off the runway:
1. Boho Chic
This boho chic look would make Vanessa Hudgens or the Olsen twins proud. The white dress is flirty and flowy, while the embroidered flowers incorporate a bit of a bohemian vibe. Meanwhile, the tan wedges and white fold-over clutch add a sense of chicness to the outfit.

To recreate the above look, begin with a dress that not only has colorful and delicate floral details, but is made of a billowy fabric. Add a fold-over clutch and a pair of strappy wedges. Finish with a sweep of bronzer and dainty earrings to create a summer-ready ensemble!
2. Summer Separates
Separates have been all over runways this year and it seems that they’ll be here a bit longer. While separates, especially pants, are not usually considered a summer staple, these linen pants are lightweight and perfect for warm weather. We also love the feminine detailing on the equally flowy top combined with the edgy dark sunglasses.

For a similar outfit, pair white linen pants with a black embroidered top. This Forever 21 top even has a v-neck detail, which is reminiscent of the original designer look. Continue to channel the high-end inspiration with slip-on black wedges and bright turquoise bracelets. Grab some dark Wayfarer-style shades and apply a neutral lip balm to complete the look.
3. Tailored Romping
Rompers don’t typically come to mind when we think “tailored,” but this casual (yet subtly sophisticated!) look from BCBG totally changes that. The romper and vest both fit the model to a “T,” and, even though we usually associate bright colors with summer, the black-and-white color scheme looks chic and trendy.
Get the Look:
Begin with a printed black-and-white romper that fits well to your body, then layer on a sleek, bright white vest. Rock a pair of strappy black wedges and slip on a pair of angular sunglasses. Complete this getup with a structured crossbody bag. We think this designer-inspired look would be a fierce choice for a daytime event.
