Now that the days are getting longer, warmer, and brighter, I can't wait to add some color to my summer wardrobe. Essie's new Summer 2014 collection is the perfect start - these six beautiful polishes include some bold, saturated shades and a couple of go-with-everything neutrals. You can buy them individually or as a mini set of 4 polishes.
For me, these colors bring to mind lush, tropical flowers, so I've put together three outfits inspired by Essie's latest nail polish collection. These looks are perfect for vacationing by the sea or on a tropical isle, but they work for staycations, too!
This first ensemble, inspired by Essie's "Urban Jungle," is ideal for a day of shopping or sightseeing, whether you're in the tropics or in your own city. Start with a white v-neck tee, denim shorts, and simple gladiator sandals. Layer on a tropical-print blazer for a summery touch, then grab a pink satchel for a pop of color. Lastly, add some flair to your digits with colorful rings and a few coats of Essie's chic nearly-white nail polish.
Ruffles and Feathers
This flirty and feminine getup, inspired by Essie's "Ruffles and Feathers," is perfect for dancing the night away. Start with a bright orange dress with pretty ruffles and a keyhole neckline. Gold heels dress up the look, while decorative gold hoop earrings make a statement. Grab a studded white clutch to hold your essentials. Lastly, style your hair in loose waves and add a vibrant pop of green to your nails.
Strut Your Stuff
This final outfit is dressy, stylish, and bold - perfect for a cocktail party or date night on a warm summer evening. A black peplum top dresses up a tropical print skirt, and strappy hot pink heels add another dose of summery color. Bring out the azure blue of the skirt with jeweled earrings and Essie's "Strut Your Stuff" polish. Lastly, add some sparkle with a silver rhinetone bangle and a matching clutch.
