Anthropologie is known for creating beautiful, classic, and bohemian-inspired clothing, and their catalogs for June and July are no exception. The summer collection is full of light and airy pieces that are right on-track with the “white hot” trend that’s been popping up absolutely everywhere this season.
I adore Anthropologie’s style and essence, but a lot of their pieces are quite a bit pricier than my paycheck can handle. I’ve recreated five outfits from the June and July catalog that are just as trendy but are also college girl budget-friendly.
Look One: Linen Shorts and White Tank
Linen shorts are perfect for summer because they’re incredibly comfortable and versatile. Pair them with a breezy white tank top, cat-eye aviators, and strappy sandals for a casual cookout, or dress them up with platform wedges and metallic jewelry for an evening outdoor concert.
Look Two: Crochet Dress and Military Jacket
This crochet dress and military jacket combo is a summery outfit that will transition beautifully into fall. For hotter days, tie the military jacket around your waist for an effortlessly casual and cool vibe. Once the weather cools off, pair your dress and jacket with tights and suede boots for the perfect fall outfit.
Look Three: Knotted Shirt and Eyelet Skirt
One of my favorite things about Anthropologie is their ability to take basic pieces and turn them into a super-chic outfit. This eyelet skirt and knotted t-shirt combo is so breezy and light, which makes it perfectly suited for blistering summer days where the last thing you want is your clothes uncomfortably clinging to you. Pair this outfit with comfortable sandals and you’re ready to take on the weekend.
Look Four: Gray Shift Dress
A-line dresses are another big trend this season, and depending on what look you’re going for, can be dressed up or down. I’m a big fan of neutral colors, so a basic gray dress like this one is right up my alley. Add a pop of color with fun shoes and mixed metallic jewelry for an outfit that’s perfectly minimal and #basic (in a good way, of course).
Look Five: Black and White Patterns
Mixing patterns may initially seem like a bit of a fashion no-no, but it can look super-stylish and chic if it’s done the right way. Mixing black and white patterns is the simplest way to ease into this trend, so don’t be afraid to experiment with stripes, polka dots, gingham, or any other pattern you like.
Tuck a striped tank top into a houndstooth midi skirt for a modern spin on a classic silhouette. (Bonus points if you rock quirky jewelry, like these awesome cicada earrings!)
