Doo. Ri’s 2010 Resort Collection
Last week you guys gave me some great suggestions as to the designers you’d like to see featured each week and while looking through the collections I fell in love with Doo. Ri’s 2010 Resort collection. Made up of light jackets, rich blues, and simple white dresses, it is the perfect mix of pieces to take you from Winter to Spring.
As I said last week, the most important strategy for replicating any collection is to simplify it. For Doo. Ri’s collection, the trends that stick out are the colors (or lack thereof). Deep, rich blues make a bold statement without any additional accessories or colors. Pair a royal blue dress with nude heels for a night out or rock a deep blue blouse with your black trousers for work and let the color speak for itself!
The Little White Dress
OK girls, I think we can all relate to this one. Every Spring I begin my search for The Perfect Little White Dress and every year, I just can’t seem to find that perfect piece. And finding the right LWD is important: the white dress has become a closet staple, and for good reason. A white mini-dress worn with black tights and ankle boots (and bold gold jewelry if you’re adventurous) is the perfect outfit for a night out on the town. When the temperatures begin to get warmer, a comfortable white dress for summer is a wardrobe must-have.
The Light Jacket
Cropped trenches and popped collars were woven throughout the Doo. Ri collection and the looks prove just how versatile a light jacket can be. Remember all of those adorable summer dresses hanging in the back of your closet waiting for warmer weather? Throw a tailored khaki jacket on over them and you have an entirely new Spring wardrobe! And how genius is a khaki vest over a flirty blue dress? So adorable.
And there you have it, the pieces you need to recreate Doo. Ri’s 2010 Resort runway looks with just a few key pieces! What do you think of the collection? What about the pieces that it’s made up of? I’d love to hear your thoughts and input on other ways to recreate the collection!
And as always, I want to hear your suggestions on which designers you’d like to see on College Fashion. Be sure to leave a comment!
