How to Wear Your Spring Wardrobe While It’s Still Winter

In case you weren’t paying attention, back on February 2nd Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and predicted there would be six more weeks of winter. Apparently the West Coast didn’t get the memo, since many areas there have been experiencing warm, spring-like weather, but we all know that those in the Midwest and East Coast have been bundling up in below-freezing temps.

If – like me – you can’t wait to break out your spring wardrobe, but the weather just isn’t cooperating, try one of the looks below to make your warm-weather pieces work while it’s still winter:

1. Floral Dress

Have a floral dress that you’re dying to break out of the closet? Style it with lace tights, black riding boots, and an oversized pastel coat. Play up the spring-y color theme with a pastel green bag, then add gold earrings for a bit of sparkle. Still cold? Bundle up with an infinity scarf and beanie.

2. Nautical-Inspired Pieces

If you can’t wait for spring because you love all the nautically-inspired styles, here’s a way to wear them in winter. Layer a crisp white button-down under a navy striped sweater, and pair those pieces with light-wash bootcut jeans for a monochromatic look. Add ankle booties for height, and for another dose of nautical, an anchor ring (and if you still want more, top the outfit with a dark peacoat for a sailor-like look).

Thoughts?

What spring styles are you dying to wear? How do you make them work while it’s still winter? Which look is your favorite? Let us know in the comments!
